Took this course online and would highly recommend him. There is a lot to cover but this course is not difficult if you follow his well structured curriculum. If something is incorrect, he will make it VERY clear as to why it is. No textbook or OS purchase necessary. Late submissions are accepted but after the first one points will be deducted.

I personally has a bad experiance with this teacher, I studied hard enough to get good grade in class and the tests questions mostly didnt have to do with what I studied, thankfully I knew the material and got good scores. Worst, did assignment as he asked and yet gives horrible grade. I SAY THIS ONCE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR.

Don't take this class unless your really good at programming and webdesign. He is a tough grader and its either his way or the highway, he is also very boring to listen to and he acts as if we should all be understanding what he is teaching. To make matters worse there is no textbook only his website that is a mess to navigate though for support.

Don't do it to yourself. The things you are expected to study and know, go way beyond the guideline of what is actually need to know. It is good to learn extras of the industry but to be tested on them is assinine.

I truly enjoyed Prof. Gibson's class. He was very informative and super helpful! Although there is a good amount of work, if you take the time to study what he gives you then the class will go by smoothly. He's always available to answer questions and provides some really good feedback.

Dr. Gibson is a wonderful computer science professor. Brilliant and an excellent communicator. He really teaches computer science and programming not just how to code which you could just learn off youTube. Being at a higher education university now for CompSci I still haven't had a professor as good as Gibson.

He is hard for no reason. He wants everything to be did his way or the highway no middle ground option. The textbook consist of him giving you links to different websites and you reading them. I would not recommend this class to anyone and if you have the option take someone else.

No textbook, Prof has custom curriculum. If you already have experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript you likely won't need to read. Otherwise, read the material. 6-7 small projects meant to test understanding where you'll need to make web pages using chapter concepts with very clear guidelines. I recommend this class.

Projects were challenging. Tests and quizzes were hard and focused about concepts and vocabulary than programming. Instructions for projects were often lacking to what the professor specifically wanted to see and thus mistakes can mean a heavy deduction from your grade.

Im not sure what other students are talking about, Gibson is the best professor ever to teach web design, he really knows his stuff in detail and will teach you so much if you just pay attention. People just want easy A's but you will never learn anything if it is given to you without trying your best. He sits with you, helps you understand everyth

Avoid online like the plague. You will not learn what you should be learning and you will have a bad time doing it. In class isn't much better. One class started with 25, ended with about 10 and a chunk of those failing or barely passing. Had to curve grades to save face. Learning materials are bland/stale, horribly written or laid out.

While he is an amazing professor, he wants things done his way. If you don't code the program his way, he thinks it is wrong. I had gone to the ASC to get help on an assignment and the people there said the code was fine, but when he had seen it it was incorrect. The book also does no help you with anything.

He does not explain well enough in class his home assignments, his quzzies are stupid tough and no real way to study for them. You have to do his homework projects the exact way he says to do it even though you get the same outcome as him, his homework assignments have bad directions. I highly recommend you find another teacher

This is not a class you take for fun or curiosity. You take this class to learn to program. If you focus on the concepts, you can pick up any language in a few days. The most important thing he'll teach you is how to write good documentation. Ask for his help, go to the ASC tutors, and don't miss deadlines. Read the textbook and you'll ace quizzes.

Textbook is on his website which links to other websites. Expects you to read material and come to class to discuss reading. Tests are hard. Study guides are not helpful. He is a very tough grader on projects. Lectures are long and boring after reading everything before class. If you ask him for help he will point you in the right direction.

I took Randy's Scripting for Websites course and I must say that it was very difficult for me because I had a tough time with following the strict guidelines (and tried doing some things that worked but not his way). The tests were tough as well but if you study fro them thoroughly you will be fine. So follow his directions and study hard to pass!

Gibson is a very professional teacher and makes you feel than you are a University student, I think this is the way all the teachers need to be at BS level, this is a preparation to a Professional career then we have to learn to be the best on what we will be doing. C++ is a very important language and needs to be taught the way he does it
