Ortiz is amazing. He really teaches the course in a way that works best for the class. He's very laid back and teaches you how to say what you mean and mean what you say. He seems grouchy at first, but at the end of the day, he really cares for his students. He's a "tough love" kind of guy.

Not structured at all, But he does that on purpose. Classes are discussion you do learn a lot. No textbook just readings that you NEED to read. Really nice and laid back guy. short essay for midterm and take home final. Overall great class!

The man is an endless well of useful information. Brilliant at getting students to THINK and not GUESS. The day I first met him is the day school became interesting. Not the run-of-the-mill, easily the most compelling professor you will ever have. Don't graduate until you have taken his class. The man CARES and I'm a better person because of him.

the 2 main projects are inventing a game and playing it, and writing a book as a class... both projects were awesome, even though the book was really stressful at times, but it came out really good... theres no hw and no tests, just a final, and he wants the class to think for themselves and not rely on him which was interesting.. TAKE HIM!!!!

Not hard but challenging. likes students to work in teams and make decisions oruselves. likes the students who speak up even if they argue with him. he helps if you ask. even comes in on weekends for students who want to work on projects. good guy, but don't mistake him for easy. he is fair and reasonable, but expects you to try to solve problems.

I really like this guy. Unlike others, he expects you to make YOUR OWN decisions about projects. We did an awsome project, but we had to solve our own problems. He treated us like college students. NOT HIGH SCHOOL

Nice guy. Knows his stuff, loves his job. The entire class is open to discussion. Not afraid to give you his OPION. Will do anything for his students. Always having some type of midlife crisis. Never takes responsibilities for his failures. I wish he was more disciplined, has a brilliant mind.

Ortiz is great in class, but he is also a great advisor. If you need advice for choosing classes, he points you in the right direction depending on your interests. He is in charge of "administrative studeis" and his students get great advisement. He even helps over the phone.
