Absolutely awful. Although the class is a fantastic way to figure the volume of your voice, he ironically shuts you off. VERY critical and is in no way respectful to your opinion. He will doc you large amounts of percents off your assignments for dumb little things. Calls out on you infront of others. Office meetings are like 2 minutes.

Dr. Ritz made me love coming to class. He's so energetic and interesting. He gives amazing feedback on all our speeches and is there when you need help on anything! I recommend taking public speaking with him to everyone!

It specifically said in the syllabus that we wouldn't have to act. Turns out we had to. If you ask for help, he'll tell you to just keep reading the material. Terrible terrible prof.

Why is this guy teaching? Was not clear about dramatic process in play. Was not clear about tests. does not care about students. Will not help if you have questions. There is an acting presentation even though it states that there is no acting required. He also makes you go see the school's performances and tests on it, just to get an audience.

Dr. Ritz is a fair professor and is very funny. Even though no acting is required, you must present a 10 minute presentation and use some acting skills.

Dr. Ritz is by far the most painful professor I have had in my academic career. This was a play analysis course "no acting required," ya you have to act because he says so. He is the most selfish, favor picking, arrogant, time waster I have ever encountered! If he does not like you you will not get above a 70 in his class! BEWARE!!!

Ritz picks favourites, however he did push me to be a better actor even though it was a challenge to get there. He is very comical which makes his classes much more enjoyable. He is a hit and miss professor.

Dr. Ritz is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. I have had him for Drama 101,102, Public Speaking, and a number of other senior level courses. Yeah he is tough, and yeah you have to work hard, but is that not how it should be? why should we strive for easy marks? Ritz, YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!

What crap! I took a "public speaking" course and practically failed due to my inability to act. He DOES pick his favourites and he marks very, very harshly. I tried to improve and up my grades, but I just didn't know what he wanted out of me! I do NOT recommend him to anyone that is NOT a drama major!!

He is arrogant and definately has favorites. You'll have to, for twenty five dollars, purchase a booklet consisting of less than approximately ten pages of menial instruction. It is a complete rip off and is clearly a cash grab. I don't mean to pollute your mind with cynicism, but this is typical for Concordia.

Expect surprises on tests. He will also make you watch adstract films which are impossible to interpret and he won't really explain them to you as you're watching but they will all be on the exams.
