I love her as a professor! She was great and I want to take another of her classes. I never used the book but you have to go to class to get the notes! If you review your notes and try in her class you will easily pass!

She is a great teacher. Books are hard for the class but she is a fair grader. I am an econ major and she is probably my favorite teacher in the department.

This is one of the better economics professors at the school, BUT her assignments closely resemble a remedial learning course at a better school. She peppers you with busy work only to let students earn a resonable grade that cannot be earned through her poorly written tests. She is not very good at explaining things but is willing to offer help.

Comment:

Dr. Ghiara is by far one the best teachers I ever had. She uses a Tablet PC to annotate pre-prepared slides and students access it later under ?Ubiquitous Presenter?. Her class has lot of work that helps you learn. Don?t buy the book she teaches using her slide show only.

Best teacher I've had through my entire California undergraduate experience. Nicest person, best teacher, etc. Really wants her students to succeed and has true expertise in her area. A rare combination.

decent teacher, nothing special...class isnt too hard if you pay attention. however...she is horrible at explaining problems, helping, and returing emails. wants you to only email her through webct, but never responds through webct. also good luck getting her to respond to an email through regular email either.

Dr. Ghiara is very smart professor her style of teaching is pretty much like Dr. Arnolds. She will teach & teach until the students understand the problem & then move on to other chapters. The class is hard/easy depending on the individual. If u read ur notes more often ur more likely to get an A on the test.

Both Classes are set up in the same manner. Three homework assignments, three tests. She also gives a chance for extra credit in both classes. You will hav e one group paper which can become a problem if you get in a bad group. She likes to give you partial credit on tests as long as you explain your reasoning.

she is great!!! classes are not easy and you can not expect them to be easy because they are econ classes:) She is very clear and you will know what you have to study before the exams. Don't buy the book you will not use it. She asks from the notes. Go to class everyday you will do fine.

Great teacher. She is very nice and the class is not easy, but she does not make it super hard. She prepares you well for all tests. Do not buy the book, didn't use it once and got a B+. Reccomend taking her for any econ you can.

She is so sweet and such a great teacher. She really cares about her students and makes sure they learn. She doesn't take attendance but don't miss class. There is no need to buy the book.

Shes one of the best Economics professors on campus, if you have any questions she' wont let you leave till you understand it. Don't get the book she mainly focuses on what she lectures. Easy A if you attend class everyday and follow up with the lectures.

There is no way around the fact that this is a challenging class. She is very enthusiastic and consistent in her teaching manner. Do not miss any classes as her tests are lecture based. Don't bother buying the book, you won't need it.
