I really enjoyed this class. I learned a lot and did not have to kill myself studying to do well. His tests are a bit tricky. He likes True/False and often tests on things that were drawn on the board. Just read questions carefully and take good notes and you will do well.

Comment:

The class was easy, good teacher, 6 tests. Attendance is not a big deal, just make sure you get the notes. No book, he hands out a packet with 3-4 lectures. That's basically your test, study that and you'll pass! Write down what he puts on the board, sometimes he tests on that but overall good class. Check your test, he tends to mess up everytime.

Be sure to check your tests against his key when he hands your class their tests back! He usually had errors on most of the tests and you can earn the class and yourself some extra points for his mistakes! :)

Wonderful teacher and does not require the book whatsoever.... He's one of the easiest teachers I've ever had, and you'll learn a lot... You'll pass if you look at the study guide he gives you, I think we had about 7 quizes in that class... IT WAS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE for me!!!!

A great teacher, and loved not needing a book for this class. Learned quite a bit about various philosophers. You do need to absorb the lectures and/or the notes he provides to pass the tests. Very flexible and willing to help if you ask.

super super EASY! there is no way you should fail this class unless you just dont study at all. he is a great teacher, uses no textbook, and provides you with all the notes. attendance is mandatory and will be counted as part of your final grade, but its really not that bad because he lets you out early every class.

I took him Fall 2010. AWESOME professor. Very knowledgable with material and explains so u understand. Tests are DIRECTLY from notes and what he writes on chalkboard. No guess work. U must be lazy to not get easy A+. no homework, no quizzes, 4 tests only!!

Garcia is a great professor. I took him in the summer. Almost all of the answers come word for word from the notes he gives you. The tests are all multiple choice. No comprehensive final. I got a high A and multiple 100s on tests.

Great prof! His class is extremely easy. All of his test questions come straight from the notes he hands out every class. He is very laid back and very nice. He understands if you have to miss but make sure not to miss more than the alloted absences because it will hurt your grade. Great guy. I would take from him again!

If you're not interested in philosophy, he can get a little boring, but if you can find the least bit passion in the subject, he's a decent teacher. He likes to pick and choose his subjects and hes very into the Chicano Movement, but if you really study the notes (which he gives you) you should do fine.

He gives out the notes for class, you dont really need the book. You do have to go to class, and take notes but the tests are right off of his notes and the notes you take. His tests have like 20 multiple choice and then 1 essay, but its really easy, and he's really nice, he does have an accent but you get over it, and he makes you actually care.

Mr. Garcia is a wonderful teach!He is really funny and makes this class fun to be in!His test are pretty good, he gives you everything you need to know, you just have to be good at memorizing.His tests were matching like who said what, and then choosing a esay.I would take him all over again if I had to!
