Very, very hard grader. If you are taking other intense classes/have a full schedule, this class will be extremely tiring. Even from working hard in this class, the grade does not compare. Participation is weighed more than a midterm... (?) However, you WILL leave this class knowing something about the subject. You must be very interested, though.

excellent professor and teacher. write, participate, read, read again and do it all again - do your job. if you work full time or have other classes that are tough it will be taxing. still, taking the class was a pleasure.

She had strong opinions about the subject material, however she was not overly opinionated. If I had prepared more for her class (simply done all the homework on time) then I would've gotten an "A". I would recommend her film class for you only if you can commit to writing a small paper every week, and attending every class.

Goes over EXACTLY what will be on exams, lots of reading, lots of points for talking/ participating in class. Study questions are given before readings which are all the material she will put on the exam. Makes it very easy to get a good grade. Papers are reasonable, grading is fair. i've never been a great writer and my grades have been good

Very interesting class and teacher. I learned alot about politics and how the U.S. takes advantage of others when it suits our needs. Then, when we're done, we forget it ever happened.

THIS INSTRUCTOR WAS USELESS!!! WE WASTED THE ENTIRE 3+ HOUR SESSIONS EACH WEEK TALKING ABOUT HER LIFE AND HER KIDS. I LEARNED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT LATIN AMERICA!!! HER WHOLE GRADING SYSTEM IS SUBJECTIVE AND SKETCHY...THE PEOPLE WHO SUCK UP GET THE BETTER GRADES AND OTHERS GET MASSIVE POINTS DEDUCTED FOR "CLASS PARTICIPATION."
