Comment:

I would not say I am an extraordinary writer by any means and I never got less than a 95% on my essays. Just listen and write down her criteria for the essays. She cares about her students and is helpful during and outside of class. Its true that is your in text citations and works cited are very important but she literally tells you what to do.

Comment:

She was a tough grader and attendance is mandatory or you will be dropped. Pay attention to what she asks for in her essays and you will pass. She will take points off if you are on your phone or it is out. Also, she is very strict about source uses and will give you a 0 if not used correctly.

Comment:

She reads every single word of your essay and definitely doesn't hand out pity points. As long as you turn in all the assignments and do well on all 4 essays you'll probably pass. Attendance is also super important because she goes through her roster weekly.

Comment:

I received a letter from U of A suggesting I major in English, and in this woman's class the highest grade I received on a paper was a D. The essays I submitted were proofread by credible people such as tutors, grammar checkers, and other professors with master degrees in English. Inflexible, boring, and honestly terrifying.

One of my favorite English professors. She is a tough grader, but everything you need to do is clearly laid out on the assignment sheet. If you have any questions you can go to her and she will help. Pay attention in class, follow the instructions, and peer review your papers, and you will pass.

Comment:

Took her for ENG 101. She cares about students and helps them. She is really stern and clear cut on what she expects of you. She explains the material very well and has a lot of assignments so you learn. It can get a little boring but if you pay attention and work hard you'll learn and pass.

Seems like she is going to be the big bad English teacher but she is actually pretty cool. Our class made her laugh so she was really nice to us. She is very clear about what she wants and how she wants it done. I wouldn't say its an easy A class but shes a great English teacher. For once i actually learned about English.

Mrs. Cornell is an amazing teacher. She's strict but in a very good way as she tells you exactly what she expects but she's also very concise on how to do it so you never have to guess or figure it out on your own. If you show up and pay attention, you will see noticeable improvement.

Best English teacher I have ever had! She is great at conveying the material and is crystal-clear on what she is looking for in the papers and on the final. Papers are not hard as long as you put the time in to proof a few times. (Tutors help). She is very helpful and is available for her students and will respond to even a email very fast.

Mrs. Cornell is kind, with a sense of humor, but takes no nonsense in her assignments. She is very clear about what she expects and does expect to get just that. It's an easy class if you pay attention and give exactly what she asks for, but not easy if you miss class often or don't use the myriad of handouts given.

This teacher was really helpful with all of the writing assignments. The course was mostly writing essays. Mrs. Cornell was really clear on what she wanted and was there to help on the essays. All in all, a pretty easy class if you do all the work.

The only comment I have is that say passes out a lot of papers without clarifying what they are for. Then she asks for them back out of no where. So just make sure to be clear on what the handouts are for. Other than that ask any questions you have during the lecture and she will answer it. She is in her office quite often and responds to her email

Mrs. Cornell is not an easy teacher, but she's a very good teacher. Don't expect to get anything past her! She is meticulous but at the same time she is very thorough & extremely helpful. She truly wants you to do well & will go out of her way to help you do your best. Other than essays, most work is in-class. The final is the only test.

I do not like English much, But Mrs. Cornell is an excellent teacher. She will nail your essays but she gives all resources to be successful. If the work is done and directions are followed, easy A. I would recommend her to anyone. Feel confident for Eng 102

Comment:

She was very nice which made it hard to be mad at her when she nailed your essay! She does read every line you write. She is always there to help, I would say she is a good teacher. Just do your work( and do it well) and you should get a good grade in the class.
