This man is amazing. Truly a gifted artist, photographer and follower of Christ. If you somehow thougt he had favorites you are sadly mistaken, he rewards hard work. He's not a prof. that accepts mediocre work just to get by. If you are a true artist then you respect that.

One of the best professors that I believe this school has to offer. He makes the atmosphere comfortable and is very inspiring when he talks about art. I have definitely grown as a person and a photographer by taking his classes.

Comment:

While his class was difficult for me to get the hang of, Professor Curfman ignited a passion in me for photography. I went with him on a May term trip to China and it was the experience of a lifetime. I would recommend his classes to anyone!

Prof. Curfman was my instr. 10+ years ago. He's seen nearly everything in art and in people. Not afraid to express himself. He has a soft side and and a hard side. I've seen both. His life is devoted to Christ first and foremost. Like the rest of us, he's human. His Christian witness via his skill is his strongest asset.

Very knowledgeable, way too busy with executive responsibilities to give full attention. A bit scattered, but a huge heart and tons of compassion for students. The kids that dislike him are usually the ones who don't give 100% or are expecting grace. Show him you are worth his time and ask good questions. You'll have no issues

Wonderful man! Very busy but so helpful if you can catch him. Totally scatterbrained but has a heart for his students. Tough grader but pushes you to have a better work ethic. His classes are worth the time and stress.

I loved Curfman. And I wasn't in his "clique" or whatever that's about. He is a kind, knowledgeable man who loves what he does. He's the head of the department, those guys are ALWAYS busy, but he's great about responding to e-mails and keeping in touch. He only ever graded fairly for me, and I wasn't aware that anybody didn't like him!

You know, it's pretty sad when a prof grades based on whether you're a member of his student clique, that's unprofessional. Couldn't the guy remember my first name just once after four years and many classes? Was that ounce of respect too much? Deadlines and rules should be adhered to for all students and not extended for favorite student buddies.
