Comment:

I didn't find him 't very approachable and he has a rude sense of humour that isn't for everyone. Lectures weren't exciting or interactive at all and I taught myself most of the material from the textbook. But he does mark fair and as long as you do the readings, his tests aren't too difficult.

Comment:

I actually loved having professeur Fournier! If you understand his sense of humor, its hilarious. If you don't, you might think he is mean but it is just the way french humor is. He is actually a sweet guy, deep inside hahaha. He really wanted you to get better in French and inspired you to do so.

He never managed to give a clear outline or instructions as to what were the expectations of the evaluations therefore it was very unclear how he would be marking them. He was very funny in class but at the students expenses. I did not feel like he was fulfilling his role as a professor in providing a proper french education!!

He is strange and very out there. And if you do not understand him or his jokes you will hate him. But I loved him! He made syntax interesting! He could take the most boring lecture and make it hilarious. I found myself learning the randomest things and loved it! I got great grades in his class and HE DOESNT LIKE EXAMS!

He is absolutely ****. You don't learn anything since he just rambles on about nothing. Unclear about what he wants or what the class is about. When you ask him questions on class work he doesn't not give you a straight answer. Useless!

His lectures are so boring that you would rather cut your arm off then stay listening to him but I learned that if you don't go, you will not do well in the course. TPH are not easy but he basically gives you the answer if you go to his office hours with a rough outline. Study exactly what he tells you, it is the exact question on the exam.

I took 25% of my classes with this guy (including a 118-page thesis in French). Sure, he's a character, but what good isn't? He's fascinating to work with, and really knowledgable. If you don't understand him, you never will. I took his courses over a period of seven years and have learned a lot from him (including plenty on red wine).

This was the best french class ever... I am only taking french from now on if this man is teaching it! He was so helpful and entertaining. Definitely worth it.
