Comment:
Took this class for a core. Make no mistake, it's a level 100 but you need to pay attention if you wanna pass. The tests are mostly based on lectures, so it's easier to show up and not use textbook (you can find the HW questions online to save money). Dixon is nice, lets you use your phone, and doesn't mark attendance at all (I skipped whole weeks)

Professor Dixon is very nice but he is late to every single class. The class material was boring and way too difficult for a 100 level course. The course in general is too test and lecture heavy. Don't take him/this class unless you have to.

Dixon seems like a nice guy, but as a professor he just doesn't know what he's doing. He goes off on unrelated tangents and doesn't explain things well. I stopped going to lecture after about two weeks because it was easier to just read the book and teach myself. I still ended up with a B. 5 tests, 5 hw assignments, and one easy paper.

Comment:
Your graded on papers and a final exam essay. I think we had 4 or 5 in total. The papers are only graded on grammar, not content. Class is discussion based. Dixon has some great stories he shares but overall the class is boring. I wish it had been given online. Dixon is an easy A as long as you can write with good grammar. Nice guy too!

Very knowledgeable guy and as long as you take notes you should be fine. No homework, solely exams and one writing assignment. Does not take attendance, but I would recommend going to class because he writes a lot of useful info on the board.

He is the easiest professor I took this semester. There is no participation grade so you don't have to show up and every test is open notes including the final. You do have to take extensive notes and just pay attention in class but the information if easy and he's genuinely a cool guy so it's only boring if you don't like chemistry. TAKE HIM!

Do not need the text book. Easy to doze off but pay attention and take notes on the articles he shows as well as notes on chalkboard. Final is optional but if taken he will drop lowest grade.

Very laid back professor. He tells you right off the bat what to expect. The class isn't hard, mostly all discussions about the readings. Papers are mostly all opinion but he tends to grade tough on grammar so make sure you don't forget those commas! Overall, pretty easy class. I recommend this professor.

Dixon is awesome. GO TO EVERY CLASS .. he outlines the exam in his lecture. You can use one full sheet for the exams, and I always made a bangin cheat sheet with tables and graphs from the text, never got below a 95% on the exams. Just go to class and spend some time on your cheat sheet and you'll do awesome!

Not exactly sure who Dixon has a 4.0 for easiness on here. I thought that he was a great guy, and had an extensive knowledge of chemistry, and was able to relate it well to everyday life. Despite this, the tests are challenging, and escaping with a B will be an accomplishment. It wasn't just me, most of the class had C's.

Great class! I went every class and enjoyed it! You dont need the txt book. Go to class take notes and you got it. He lets you use a cheat sheet for the tests. He totally knows what he is doing. Also, he cracks little jokes that were kind of dumb but I found them hilarious. I dont like science but I liked this class. The second test is hard though!

Hes an awesome teacher. You have to be in class alot for the discussions but really its not a hard class. Some of the things really makes you think about what is ethical in science today. It is kind of like a debate class in some classes. No real exams. Just a lot of short essays about what you read in class. Books on the list, arent really needed

Take this class, but don't bother taking the plastic off the book if you plan on going to class. Really easy A, gives you cheat sheets and is willing to answer questions.

Where to begin...this class is soo easy! I went through the entire semester and I have yet to unwrap my txtbk and still got A's and B's on all the tests. Just go to class and take good notes. Nice man but boring class. Jokes aren't funny and u sumtimes feel guilty 4 letting your mind wander but u get over it.

The class is fairly easy. Sometimes he rambles on a bit and doesn't explain everything as well as he could. Probably the worst thing is the fact that he writes really small and in a lecture hall it is hard to see what it says. Overall though I recommend taking it if you don't like science.

Nice guy, jumps around a lot but if you hate chem and want to get through a class take him. 4 exams you can use a note page for, and he drops the lowest grade also one paper. Not a bad class.
