BEST TEACHER AT GCSU extremely interesting, you will want to go to clss. Attendance and participation is mandatory. No test or quizzes just class discussions and online post. We read 6 books, but since there are no test you can inflate your post and do not have to read. Best class at GCSU take it if you can get in. Respectable of peoples views.

He is demanding but also incredibly interesting. We read 6 books during the semester, and although I didn't read about half of 2 of them because they were not interesting, he manages to make you understand it with the discussions. No tests. You get to edit your paper with his recommendations. Posts are pretty straight forward. Take this class!

Demands a lot of class discussion but is one of the most interesting and thought provoking professors in the department. He's pretty lenient about most things but always prepare for class. Presentation of information in your papers in a logical and developed manner is very important.

Pretty much an awesome teacher. Lots of WebCT work but its not hard. just keep up with the readings. no final if you do service learning, 1 group project, and 1 paper. Very interesting discussions. If youre easily offended dont take this class! Other than that i highly recomend.

Viau is one of the best teachers at GCSU. It is not just his knowledge but his ability to communicate this knowledge in an effective way in which students can actually grasp and understand. I have taken him several times and I have never heard of a student that did not enjoy his classes. Take his class!!!! he is the****!

He was an amazing teacher. He likes to rattle your thoughts and beliefs a little, but it's not to be mean, just to make you think and learn to defend yourself. Lots of reading and participation required, but it's not hard.

Excellent professor. Very informed, animated, weird, fun, personable, etc. He is demanding about MLA format and grammar, but content is most important, and he allows multiple revisions on big papers. He wants you to be interested and engage in class discussions, and he's even fun to chat with outside of class.

I've taken him several times, and I love him everytime. He makes the class interesting and he really knows his stuff. Plus he grades students on the basis of what they actually learn in the semester and not nitpicky stuff...imagine that.

Best part: NO TESTS! Dr. Viau treats students like the adults we are. Show him respect and he'll return the favor. He's a trip--and might take some getting used to. I was a little scared at first, but I grew to like him! Make sure you read and prepare for discussion!!!

Utopia/Dystopia seminar was fun. Some religious groups may have trouble with him: he tends to ask you to question your beliefs, but seems a bit bias against some beliefs. Pretty easy material: read, post, and you are good. I enjoyed it!!
