Honestly, I would not recommend this professor to anyone because he just does not explain the material well. The class average is an F for every exam (only 3 exams and one case study assignment make up your grade).

Comment:

Not an easy subject. He gives realworld examples that are best only for FIN majors. Careful of trick questions. Grades on his mood, but my class did so badly that he took pity and gave us a makeup test. Miniquizzes from hw probs, noncumulative exams - mult choice, essay, probs, and writing ass. READ THE BOOK! Multiple choice often from vocab defs.

Comment:

Very informative class, a must take for finance majors. The class is not difficult like other classes that Anderson teaches. You set up excel and make decisions. You run a company which is 40% of your grade, do a presentation which is another 40% of grade, and participation/attendance 20% of grade. You will learn a lot in this class!

This professor knows his stuff, and for his tests you need to know yours as well. His exams are heavily essay based, and you can not BS through it. I got an A, because i took detailed notes during lectures and took additional notes when reading through the book.

Comment:

Class was very hard but interesting. Tests are impossible to get an A but he curves grades to help. No handouts or aids just take notes entire semester and know material well. Best suggestion is to get a past test since he does not change them year to year. I am never happy to receive a C, but was just happy to pass this class. Good luck and study!

This is a hard class, however if you study you can do very well. Study Tips: Read book, attend classes, read wsj; you must do all three to keep up in this class, don't slack. The wsj really helps put together what we are talking about in class and helped me get an A. Good luck.

One of the toughest classes i've taken, but i have learned more in this class than all my other finance classes combined. Really teaches you how the financial markets work. Read the book and understand the concepts, and you will do fine. Start studying a week before the test, and do not procrastinate on your WSJ articles

Very hard professor. However will learn the most about finance from him then any other class you take at UNLV. Prepare to devote a lot of time to this class, he grades on a curve so that help, however must take detailed notes and prepare for tests. Good luck!

One of the best professor's I have ever had. Makes you earn your grade! Tests are very very hard but are passable. I enjoyed the class very much as well. It is the most I have ever learned at UNLV

Not a very good professor. Try to avoid. He understands finance, but it seems that he's more interested in hearing himself talk, than teaching students. He doesn't prepare students for his style of tests which are mostly essay and conceptual. Granted it's up to the student to earn the grade, he should help good students reach that goal. The Worst!

Very hard class. All he does is lecture....alot. Plus you need to read the book and remember it all. He's the only one who teaches the class so good luck kiddies! Red Bull needs to be your best friend so you don't fall asleep.

He sucks. He has no organization at all, and he tries to fail students because HE was a lousy student and failed to get his Ph.D. He will NOT tell you what your grade is before the final. He wants you to believe he curves grades but it's a ruse. Lastly, what he teaches is useless in the real world. I WARNED YOU.

I love this professor. He is very nice and understanding. The material is kinda of hard, however if you pay attention in the class and understand it. You will be fine!
