Comment:
Lacey's style of teaching is slow and methodical, and took some time getting used to. He's funny, nice and seemed to really enjoy the material he teaches. Once I got used to his teaching style, I enjoyed having him as my professor. His material was the most difficult of the three professors and # of clicker questions increased, so don't miss class.

He was the 2nd best CHE131 professor after Jia. He's pretty engaging in lecture. However, his explanations are kind of hard to follow. He complicates problems a little bit.

This professor is the worst of the 3 for CHE131. His lectures are so slow paced, it takes him a full 5 minutes to say one full sentence. He never finishes the lecture slides and is not engaging whatsoever. He tries his best to explain concepts but strays away from the point. Study hard or get ready to fail his test.

Tests arent the easiest but if you really study the notes and practice tests youll do fine. I recommend making a chegg account to get through the aleks hw (literally the worst part of the class). He rushes through clicker questions so make sure you dont miss any. My class had a curve so dont stress too much about your grade.

Good professor, the best out of the 3 who teach 131. Review his lectures, review the clickers, and youll do fine. Plus hes humorous and isnt outright boring. Also gives a final review.

great professor and knows how to teach. Great review session that was much more helpful than other prof's lectures. The grade I received was of my own failure to do the ALEKS hw. It's long and tedious but it works wonders.

He was the better of the 3 professors for Gen Chem 1. He runs a review session during the semester that is helpful. Hes pretty clear once you get used to lectures, and is available for help if you need it. Funny, decent lecturer, just difficult material that wasnt dumbed down enough for me

I struggled in class and email professor Lacey for help and to schedule an appointment to meet and never got back to with any of my emails. Even if my emails were asking about school work he never responded. Honestly would not take him again. To anyone else you enjoyed him good for you

Professor Lacey is definitely a good professor. The class in itself is hard especially if its the first science course you're taking at stony brook. Study really hard for the tests, sign up for tutoring, and do everything you can. I had a tutor and studied and was one question away from an A. The class is doable.

It's hard to rate Prof. Lacey without talking about the class itself, but he is definitely the best of the 3 professors who teach this class. Easiest to understand, best at explanations, best lectures, funniest, etc. The class itself is a lot of work, attendance isn't mandatory but there are clicker questions there that count towards your grade.

He does cover ( in my opinion) the hardest part of the course. But he is slow and good and explaining things. He is also super funny. Just do the ALEKS and the Connect, even if they are completely irrelevant sometimes.

Lacey is a great guy, clear lectures, always doing review sessions on his own time to help out students, and really funny! Hes an endearing guy and is pretty good at explaining things. Likes to give clicker quizzes at the beginning of lectures so look out for that, but hed great and always willing to help students. Recommended!
