Comment:

I took Dr. S's class online during the summer (6-week session). There was A LOT of work, but it wasn't hard (just tedious). The grading guidelines were clear. He does have a thick accent, but you get used to it. I can't vouch for a traditional class, but he was fine for an online class. He never came across as rude or mean. Just straightforward.

Comment:

Terrible professor. Had to get software for homework late due to financials and he did not let me make them up. Also didn't give me access to the exam on lockdown browser and then failed me even though I sent proof. Takes off WAY too many points on projects. Simply a terrible professor and unreasonable man. Had to drop the class to save my GPA.

This class was online, but there wasn't a lot of homework. I did several assignments in one night and didn't have to touch the class for a month. There are 2 exams online. Didn't do the last 2 projects and still got a B in the class. Didn't watch the lectures either. Fairly easy class.

Awful. Just plain awful. I would say avoid, but I know you can't because he is the only teacher for some of the upper level courses. He is behind on the times, has been at BGSU for over 20 years, but still has a thick accent, and does not listen to reason. His quizzes are full of trick questions and are so vague, they only make you angry.

I had him for online MIS2000. He has a very thick accent and can be hard to understand. Since this was not an in-person class, I cannot comment on how he is in the classroom. A lot of homework. Difficult exams. I cannot speak for the professor, but in my online class it seemed like people weren't trying and did not take it seriously.

Professor is out of touch with technology. Singles students out. Will still lose points on participation, even if you show up everyday and you participate. Group projects and more group projects, you are only given a week to do a group project. Gives huge curves, because no one does well in the class. No curves, everyone would fail.

This instructor doesn't know how to use Microsoft office. Exams are extremely tough, they are given in multiple parts, in which each one feeds off of the other. Exams are strictly off of the labs that are given. Exams are made so you will lose points. Its like we are suppose to be masters students, when we are only going after our Bachelors.

I took three classes with him at the same time and all of them were miserable. His handwriting is hard to read, questions on exams and projects are extremely unclear and leave out important information, and he will find a reason to take points off of everything you turn in. Very rude and doesn't listen when students ask questions. Try to avoid.

He makes the class unnecessarily difficult, providing endless video lectures that are mainly a waste of time. He doesn't give very many points, and there are usually more points to be lost than the assignment is actually worth. His discussion boards aren't specific, yet you must know what he wants. He isn't helpful and rude when you are incorrect.

Rude, disrespectful, unhelpful. Expects you to participate but offers no chance to do so, and laughs at students when they get a question wrong. He is just a terrible person.

Instructor was hard to understand at times, couldn't read handwriting sometimes. Dont buy/rent these books, all the lectures ppts are online and all test questions are from those. Projects are easy as long as you attend class on lab days. Easy class, but he makes it very boring.

One of the most horrible people I've ever met. Is completely dismissive of students to the point of blatant disrespect. Is incapable of timely communication or conveying simple ideas. Often gives major assignments with less than 24 hours notice before due date. Uses outdated texts, 3 year old slides, & is not up to date on tech (in an IT class).

MIS2000is supposed to be an easy class. However, he makes it very difficult. Pointless to go to class for lecture days bc he puts all powerpoints online but would recommend lab days. microsoft access projects were easy but only like 10 pts whereas your 2 exams that are weighted the most are quite difficult bc he is very wordy. no personality either

Try to avoid him... He has multiple choice questions that try and mess you up and only 2-3 people will get right out of 35 students due to wording issues. He does not take criticism well nor does he listen to reason. If you cite the book to challenge him he just smirks and moves on. Avoid him, I would not recommend him to a friend.

Awful. You would think an IT class would be an interactive class where you get to see and experience IT applications. Instead, it's a dull PPT lecture straight from the publisher. He is consistently late for class and outright rude when you approach him for help.

Worst teacher ever. Does not care about the students at all. First exam average was a D and he still did not curve it. He expects you to know everything and does not explain how to do the projects and does not let you know whats on the exams. For being an easy class he made it miserable.
