Solid teacher! Very knowledgable. You have to study for his tests though. He wants details and answers you don't always find from the lectures. Great teacher. Firm but fair.

Comment:

Took Death & Afterlife with him and would consider taking a religion course just because of my experience with him. The class was extremely easy. If you pay attention in the slightest during class you'll do well. He gives you a list of vocabulary words and topics for the essay on a review, you memorize it and you're set. Definitely recommend.

Comment:

You can tell that Dr. Britt knows what he is talking about, but he sometime struggles with communicating it to students. He gives outline of the info is going over in class everyday, which helps a lot. Before each test he gives out a study guide, if you use it the test will be really easy.

Comment:

As a religion major, I took Dr. Britt for Religions of the World. Very kind professor. A little scattered. Has a definite interest in and appreciation for Hinduism and Buddhism and the focus of the class tends towards those traditions. Manages to make the class manageable while still having students learn a lot. Accessible.

Dr. Britt really really really knows his stuff. He has so many stories and examples - it seems like he had a really thought out answer to every obscure question our class could think to ask him about Buddhism and east/southeast Asian religion. Plus he's just a nice professor who takes genuine interest in his students.

Comment:

Funny, interesting guy. Interesting subject makes long lectures more fun. You'll learn a lot if you pay attention, come to class, take definition and description notes and then go over your notes before the test days. You'll write occasionally but there will be plenty to write about. Study, do well on your tests, and you're set.

I learned a good deal in this class and Britt was a great professor. Not the most exciting guy in the world but is knowledgeable and very nice. Work load was very reasonable and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this class to anyone.

Dr. Britt is a pro! He makes an effort to get to know his students and he is extremely likable. Lectures are straightforward, and everything on the tests is on his review sheets. To make an A though you really need to stay on top of things and attend class. I learned a lot from this course, I highly recommend Britt, one of the coolest profs at FU

Great professor. Knows a lot about the subject. Passionate about teaching and his students. Very engaging, though the tests can be difficult. However, he gives great lecture outlines and study guides. You MUST take Britt while at FU!

Class is SOOO easy. He gives study guides for the tests. You have a presentation on a ritual that is not only fun but interesting and a fairly easy way to get a good grade. He seems a little off his rocker and sometimes tells STRANGE stories, but he's not bad if you want an easy A. He's a really nice man too

Incredibly nice guy, funny, really cares about his students. Outlines help you keep up in class. You learn so much about Buddhism in here. You have 2 different options for tests, and it's not hard at all to make a B. An A is very difficult though. A great class with a great man you can't help but like.

Comment:

Took Britt for Buddhism and loved it. Good lecturer, interesting and funny. A genuine nice guy. If you take the essay tests and come to class you probably can't make less than a B, slightly more work needed for the A- or A. Definitely recommend the course to anyone for Asian-African/Upper level humanities.

very educated, but all the non-English words put together can get very confusing..gives structured lecture notes based on outlines..gives many handouts, but ALL the reading is not necessary to do well..tests are fair b/c he gives a studyguide w/ all the keywords you should know along w/possible essay questions and goes over that in class

Precious man with an endearing speech impedement (makes "f" sound instead of "th" sound. ex: faif, souf, norf)went to harvard and has traveled all over the world -- very knowledgeble. always brings fun statues, books, and movies to class. would DEFINATELY recommend taking anything by this man.
