The content was pretty easy, there was just so much homework and lab work, fluff. Other Geology professors at KU are able to teach the same amount of content effectively without so much fluff work. Because it was easy for me I didn't see the value in doing all the work. Aced the final, but was not given an A for the class...

Comment:

She provides a lot of information in her lectures. She is very passionate with her teaching, but the later it got in the semester, she just did not care about being that passionate because most of us were not geology majors. This class also had a lab which was not too terrible.

Her tests can be difficult but she gives plenty of extra credit in lecture. She can be a little weird but sometimes she's funny. Lab can be a little hard at times but not too bad, the grading allows you to miss 2 labs. Overall, not too bad of a professor.

I had Professor Tindall for Intro to Geology. She is really funny and gives an insane amount of extra credit just for being in class which really helps because her tests are really hard if you don't love geology. Your grade is really up to you but make sure you study for her tests or else you will fail them.

Dr. Tindall was my professor for just lecture, not lab. She made her tests super hard and a lot of people did poorly on them. She definitely tries to trick you. She also gave us our second test on the last day to withdraw from classes which a lot of people found kinda rude. If you take this class get ready to study study study.

Comment:

One of the great professors at Kutztown. She was my professor for Structural geology and field methods. Both were my favorite geology courses. A very clear and concise person, super enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Structural labs are a lot of work; plan to spend a minimum of 5 hours and a max of 16 on labs.

Fairly nice. she expects a lot. her tests are very detailed and she makes trick questions. i did all the work and put in a lot of effort. unless you are geology major you will probably not enjoy her class.

Crazy and quirky but knows her stuff. I ended up enjoying this class and actually learned something. If you do the study guides and the extra credit stuff on D2L at the very least you will pass the lecture portion of this class. (The overall grade is 50% lecture and 50% lab). You need this text book. Although you should be good with an old edition

Structural Geology. Nice professor, but a VERY labor intensive and time consuming class. Make sure you keep every scrap of paper she ever gives you! She WILL try to mess with your head with odd details/problems. Be on your guard. This class is her specialty, so you have been warned. I heard Friehauf also offers this, take it with him if you can.

An excellent teacher. Very clear when presenting concepts and always available via email or office hours for help. Her sense of humor is great! Very candid. However, she dislikes biology and looks for every opportunity to put it down whenever she can. This is disrespectful. Very good at advertising the major, but she definitely has agenda to push.

Dr. Sarah is one of the coolest people ever! She has her dog in her office with her! She is really helpful and explains things very well. She also has an evil side, her tests are very challenging. Make sure you do well on labs and COME TO CLASS and you'll be fine.
