Worst teacher ever. Every comment and rating about her is accurate. She grades very harsh and is very unhelpful. Her criticisms are useless and unconstructive. I've never received less than an A in ANY english class, but barely scraped by with a B. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

Dr. Young is a nightmare. Never had I ever received a grade lower than a B+ in an English class. I finished this semester with a C+. The papers assigned are very unclear, and she took ALL semester to grade 3 of 5 papers. NEVER let her know you're an athlete, as that will get you in her doghouse quick. Her online assignments are impossible.

She gives a lot of criticsm that is completely unconstructive and condescending. Her subjects are completely unclear and no matter how much time you put into your papers she will grade in an extremely unfair manner. Although I've had other teachers rate me in their top 5% of writers, I have received C's on all of my papers so far. She is awful.

The class was somewhat enjoyable, but she does grade very hard on papers. She's very picky with giving out A's unless you do beyond oustanding. Don't take the class early in the morning because she encourages discussion. Quizzes can be somewhat cumbersome and it will lower grade if you don't take them. You can endure the class but don't expect an A

Wow. Maybe the worst teacher i've had. How this woman got a PhD i will never know. It really does take her forever to grade your papers, and she wonders why she keeps getting moved into smaller and smaller offices. Probably because she is a horrible teacher, and nobody wants to share an office with her.

This woman is worthless. I wrote a paper and a month and a half later (the day before drop date) she had only graded one of 2 papers, and not my group project or theater review. Dont take with her. Hopefully someone else will have complained to the dept. head so you wont have to worry about getting her.

I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. It took her 6 weeks to grade a 2 page paper. Oh, and did I mention that I got the same percentage grade on every single paper I wrote (even though I took in her criticism and applied it to the next paper, and had 2 other people read over my work before handing it in)?

Yea... not a fan. She is always weeks behind in grading. Class is no fun when we have "discussions" becuase she shoots everyone down. Plus the material is lame. Hard grader on papers... class average a C-??? Don't get her!

This class was completely useless. It seemed like I was taking a different class (psych, sociology, religion, philosphy, ect) every time we met depending on what the reading assignment was. I learned nothing about english. **If you're in a fraternity or sorority, make sure she never finds out, otherwise your grade is doomed**

I thought this class was pretty easy. If you can't get around to reading the plays when they are due you can read spark notes first to get an idea of what it was about! She was always very helpful when i e-mailed her or had questions. Assignments were sometimes unclear. And you can get a good grade in the class...I got a B+

She seems very passionate about literature. I don't think she is as bad as the previous 2 ratings described at all. Actually she was very helpful when I had problems. Her assignments were very clear and not too hard. I am a foreign student, and I got a B, you go figure...
