This is the worst English teacher I have ever had. I went into this Honors class getting A's in AP Lang and AP Lit and Comp in high school. I thought "Oh I'll probably get a B or an A in this class if I'm lucky... boy was I wrong. His style of having you write paper is so rigid there's no room for creativity. STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT A GOOD GOOD GPA

Professor Lucas is great, truly passionate about what he wants the class to learn. I took him for both ENG 102 and 218, and it was no walk in the park, but I learned a lot from him. He is readily available for help and welcomes anyone that needs help. I would highly recommend his class even if you do not enjoy English very much, he will make it fun

I had Dr. Lucas 2nd semester knob year and I failed his first test and paper miserably. After that I went to him for Help and recieved an A on every paper and nothing less than a B from then on out. He knows his stuff and is always willing to help out. Great Guy as well!

I liked this guy until I started getting papers back filled with red ink. Not for any errors in grammar, structure, format, or argument, but merely because I had my own ideas about the meaning and symbolism behind the books we were reading. I went to his office after every paper to argue my case but he refuses to consider any view but his own.

A good prof. Very educated and speaks very clearly. Take notes on what he says in class and you'll do fine on the tests. Hard on papers, but just go to him at least twice for every paper and you should do alright.

Very good prof; gets students involved in class discussion, which keeps everyone awake and paying attn. Personally I thought he graded the papers a bit hard, but that just helped my writing skills in the end. Get involved in the class and go to him for help while writing your papers and youll have a sure-fire A.

Dr. Lucas is a very knowledgeable teacher. He gives virtually no homework in 101 and only 5 papers to do throughout the semester. To do good on his papers, strictly follow his guidelines and instructions; in 101, he grades the paper strictly on whether or not you followed direction. If you need help on a paper, go to him and he'll work with you.
