She is a great teacher and lady. A lot of people found this class hard for some reason. You read the book, follow the practice sheet, take good class notes and you'll be fine. You never get bored in her lectures and are interested. She ahs 7 exams, all with multiple choice and changes between matching, maps or essay questions. Would definitely take

She is a nice person, but her class can be challenging. A few times she was a little condescending because she is old school. She assigned a lot of reading for the tests, and often tested on things not gone over in class. She does not post her notes or attendance online and does not allow people to record her, so be prepared to write

She is very test and participation heavy, your attendance is a large chunk of your overall grade. She is very lecture heavy for her tests. Sometimes on the tests she will have information from the textbook that she expected you to read, though you can probably pass without the text book, however, she requires a novel you WILL need to buy it.

Dr. Franklin-Rahkonen can get off topic a lot, but overall she really helps you understand the material you're learning and elaborates in such a way that you actually retain the information.

I took her Euro history class 3 years ago, and I'm really glad I did. I was never a history person, but she explained everything in a very engaging way, and she definitely knows her stuff. The whole reason I came back to this page wasn't to rate her, but once I saw how low her rating was I knew I was obligated to leave positive feedback for her!

She was a great professor. Her tests were challenging, but if you keep up with the reading there is no reason the course should be that hard. Gives opportunities for extra credit and is easy to find.

Get ready to read A LOT. I took this class a few years ago, so the curriculum could have changed. I'm not a history person, so it was really hard for me to understand her lectures. It's just a lot of information and you don't know what she is going to test you on. I wouldn't recommend her, but that's just me.

I was very nervous coming into this class because I had heard bad things about her that turned out to be the complete opposite from the truth. She's a really nice woman who knows what she's talking about and gives amazing lectures. You definitely need to read the textbook and the two books for the class. There's also a study guide she uses.

I was nervous to take her class because I had heard other students talk badly about her, but I was pleasantly surprised. She's a really nice lady who is nothing like described below. She knows her stuff and gives great lectures. Definitely do the reading for the class. Aside from the textbook you have to read to two other novels in this class.

I am surprised she doesn't have a higher rating! She is so nice, and she gives you study guides for every test. It is SO easy to get an A, all you have to do is read the book and go to class. She is very helpful and if you want an easy A, take this class

She's very nice. Her lectures are entirely PowerPoint based so they're easy to take notes from. Reading from the book and course packet are necessary to get good test grades. She gives points for attendance and random extra credit, which helps a lot. Exams are not difficult if you read the material and show up to class. Easy teacher overall.

Her classes are very hard but she is a great teacher. Class lectures can be a bit disorganized and there is A LOT of reading. Tests questions are pulled directly out of the reading. But she is probably the most helpful teacher in the whole history department. She is more than willing to help any student who asks. Awesome woman and decent teacher

An absolutely terrible teacher. She does not understand the subject matter she teaches and is very unorganized, often taking entire weeks to grade simple assignments. She is rude and disrespectful towards her students, unwilling to help them in any way. All in all, a terrible teacher who should be avoided. She has NO business teaching.

A lot of people complain about her but I think she's a great teacher. She may be a bit disorganized with her information at times, but overall she knows what she's talking about. Theres alot of reading but you're in college so get used to it. Reading the text is the best way to learn after all!If you read &look at the study guide, you should be fine

She is the WORST teacher! I had her once a week for an intro history class. She assigns HUGE reading assignments, then you take a quiz at the beginning of the class, and THEN she actually teaches the material you were just quizzed on. I'm a good student, and love history but I actually had to drop her class. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!

This class was very interesting, and I like Dr. Franklin. There is a lot, a lot of reading, but that is to be expected for a course this high. There were two tests, and they were pretty easy if you make note cards. They were just on the most important people and topics discussed in the book and class. We also wrote a couple papers in here as well

She expects you to read a lot but if you do and put at least SOME effort into it you should do fine. She has high expectations but if you try hard it should show in the results. A little difficult but she's a nice lady. Expect to read a lot if you want to do well on the tests but that should be standard for any class I think. . .
