This is the most unprofessional professor I have ever had. He is the perfect example why tenure is not a good thing for our education. He shows up to class late and reads off his PowerPoints almost word for word. If you ask a question, he only confuses you more. He marks points off assignments for no reason even if you follow directions 100%.

By far, the most frustrating professor. I understand that web programming is not too difficult, but I feel Dr. Wuu makes it so. Never replies to emails, he reads them for sure. Creates assignments very last minute without any email notification. assigns work, when the student workspace has not been created, even emailed with no replies.

Professor Wu makes no secret of the fact that this is a masters level course and in order to do well, you will have to do some work and research on your own. Show up to class and do your homework--this class is not easy, but you will learn a lot!

Personally, I think he does decent job at teaching. He is a lecture teacher. What it does is introducing and "generally" explaining the concepts. The code examples all are in textbook. You need to read it to understand. Writing example code is for the lab instructor instead. Don't blame him for your laziness.

Don't take this professor. His class is boring, and poorly paced. He seems to gloss over any confusing concepts, and repeatedly go over the most obvious stuff. He isn't even knowledgable about the subject matter: He pronounces C++ as 'C increment', and teaches the class to do the same. It is not. You will not learn anything in his class.

I would try to take another teacher if you have the chance. You might get turned off with the major if you take this course. Not much examples on how to code more so quizzing you on what you read. Was a very demanding class. If your new to programming take another teacher. If you already have a coding background then you will be fine.

The guy is a smart and all, but he is just an awful teacher. He does not teach the material, only goes over theoretically and random points of the book. Does he actually show himself typing coding and showing how each line work? No. He might answer questions, but only very specific questions and you have to know what you're talking about.

He has a horrible, impenetrable accent, and reacts mockingly when noone in the class understands him. If he wasn't the only teacher on campus who taught this class, I would not have been in it. You're honestly better off talking with the other students during the lecture than asking the teacher questions.

Incredibly boring, just reads from his slides. There is a slight language barrier making asking questions a chore. He does curve his tests a LOT though, turning 30% into 70% is not unusual. Do all of the homework well and you'll pass this class.

Worst professor in the CS department. In class, all he does is read from a PowerPoint that is based on the book. There is no doubt that he is really smart, but it's like he expects his student to understand just about as much as he does. There are 10 HW assignments, a midterm, and a final. Good luck with this one.

Comment:
Super boring, spends all of class just going over ppt slides rehashing textbook content, very little outside perspective. Exams are ridiculously hard, resulting in a huge curve. Also very misleading about what will actually be on the test. Focuses too much on ADA, Prolog and LISP, tends to gloss over C/C++/C# & Java. Textbook HW is confusing.

One homework assignment per week, very easy. Only two tests: midterm and final. Allowed a cheat sheet. All lectures were taught off of a dense, 50+ slide powerpoint outlined from the book, so it was dreadfully boring each class. Observed that he gives a bit of a negative, condescending response when asked questions or when expecting class feedback.

Spend several weeks talking about NP complete, computation complexity, way beyond the book, that no one understand. Jump to theory of NP complete problems right away without examples. Handouts have very small characters, hard to read. Lectures are hard to follow. No time for many important chapters. Expect students to teach and give lectures.

Horrible Professor. The worst. "Lectures" are reading off PPT slides. Never prepared for class. You'll fall asleep in class. Learned nothing all semester. Prof. Slott (Lab) saved us and my grade. His tests are outrageous, lab portion and hw evens out bad tests, so no need to worry. Be prepared to spend more than 3 hours in lab on Friday.

Wu is very hands-off in this class, much more so than any others that he teaches. However, because Project management is basically a semester-long group project, this should be expected. He provides pretty good feedback when you ask for it, so as long as you don't live in a vacuum, you'll be fine.
