A super easy class. Other comments have said he gives the textbook for free, but he didn't this year to my Math 15 class. He's a good teacher, all you have to do is listen in class and study a bit and you'll pass. He doesn't count attendance and doesn't check homework. I got the textbook but ended up never using it.

Comment:

He doesn't know how to explain things for calculus. When asking a question, he doesn't know how to rephrase something that didn't make sense to the class. Always comes late then ends class early. Sends you to the math lab instead of giving you direct extra help. Talks about his life more than calc. Take this class with a different professor.

Thers's a review sheet before every quiz w/ the ans. keys. 6 Quizzes (2 gets dropped) then the FINAL EXAM that either counts as 1/2 or 1/3 of the final grade (depending on the performance throughout the course). Dr. Rothman is a gem, very respectful, and caring.

Dr. Rothman offers review sheets before every quiz w/ ans. keys. 6 quizzes (2 lowest gets dropped) that count as exams. At last, there's a final exam that either counts as 1/2 or 1/3 towards the final grade depending on the student's progress throughout the class. He's extremely caring and willingly works w/ the student's convenience. :) GL. <3

Dr. Rothman is great. He gives bi-weekly quizzes and drops the lowest grades by default. The textbook is given free for both MTH15 and MTH16. Also, an extra quiz gets dropped by going to the National Museum of Mathematics in Manhattan on E. 26th street and writing a paragraph about the visit. He is also fairly funny and has a pet cactus.

He was so awesome. I hated math until i took his class and now i kind of like it. he gives quizzes and drops the lowest 2 grades. he gives extra credit for you to go to the math museum. He is funny. I would take his class again. Hopefully he is teaching MTH 16. Oh yeah, the textbook is free. He designed the textbook and gives it to you. Take him!!!

He gives you the text book for free. He allows extra credit if you go to the math museum in the city. Drops the two lowest quiz grades. Allows you to make corrections on your final. If you suck at math, he is so helpful, so caring, and honestly just a blessing. I strongly recommend him! He does what he can to make sure you succeed!

Never enjoyed math throughout high school, but now I enjoy it! He made it enjoyable and was there to help every step go the way by providing extra credit and dropping 2 quiz grades! He is always available for questions and will explain it until you understand. Great class! Also gave the textbook for free

I am not a math person, never understood it! Got an A in his class! He is a great professor, funny, smart and a great teacher. He goes slowly and doesn't move on until the whole class gets it. He goes off on funny tangents and is really down to earth. He gives extra credit to replace a quiz score and also drops 2 quizzes.

Extremely personable professor, very nice guy. Will take the time to help students. He provides the textbook for FREE. He generally is clear, but sometimes sidetracks in class. Overall an easy A, worth taking the class.

Gave us a textbook for free that he printed up, its also on his website. Very easy class, final grade is made up of an average of your best 4 out of 6 quizzes and the final. Whichever of those 2 is higher is worth 2/3 of your grade and the other is worth 1/3. The final was cumulative but it was multiple choice.

He gives you the textbook the first day of class, so you dont have to buy one. Theres a quiz about every other week, but he gives you a review sheet that is pretty identical to the quiz, just with different numbers and he goes over it the class before the quiz, so you are always prepared! and you can drop the 2 lowest quiz grades which is great

AMAZING! wish i could take him every year. best professor. unbelievably helpful if you are having trouble. always lets us out of class early. quizzes like once a week but he always gives us a practice quiz beforehand, identical to the quiz (plus drops lowest quiz grades). not many tests. he gives us the textbook so dont need to buy. EXTREMELY NICE!
