A Lot of material for each test. Memorize the notes- YOU'LL FAIL TESTS OTHERWISE. you HAVE to memorize his flickr pictures + study the lab packets to pass his lab tests. Attendance matters! don't Waste $ on the textbook! He was nice at first. Want an A? So did I! Try to get N Freeman instead. He's not a bad teacher, but she gives better grades :)

Chill professor but expects good students that attend class and do lab questions ahead. We didn't do a lab report this semester, no EC. Lab exams are straight forward, he tells you exactly what you need to know. Memorize lecture notes word-for-word to score A's. Practice potential essay questions and you'll get an A. 5 credit class hard work.

Class was not as hard as I expected. To do well, memorize team site docs! Nearly all lecture exam ?'s are based off this info. If you are good at memorizing word for word & have a good understanding of bio, then take him. Grades research paper tough, but still possible to get A. Most labs done in groups and are laid back; straightforward lab exams.

100 point research lab assignment (on top of 5 lecture exams and 2 lab exams). Most people don't do well on this - start working on it early and have Leonelli look over it a few weeks prior to deadline. One opportunity for extra credit, but helps a lot. Very difficult to get an A (only 2-4 people maintained an A, and that was with E.C. added).

Get ready to work. 5 Lecture exams and 2 Lab exams. Study at least a week prior to exams. Memorize team site docs THOROUGHLY (word for word). 30 point essay question on each lecture exam - no heads-up as to what he will ask. Lab assignments worth a few points each, but all material tested on lab exams. Don't be late to lab and prepare ahead!

Great professor. He is very clear on what he expects from you, BUT you must work hard to get an A (it is possible) or maintain a solid B. He offers a 20 point ExCr opportunity for both courses! Really helps your grade. DON'T need the book. His documents are the framework of the course. Helpful in office hours and gives you coffee :) NO CURVE

I took him for Bio101 and it was hell, but for Bio102 the class is easier yet you still need to work your ass off to maintain a B. Thats right getting an A in his class is nearly impossible. The research paper is by far the hardest assignment since he grades really hard and no one got an A. Don't take too many classes if you want to take Bio102.

He was always available for office hours, willing to answer any question no matter how stupid, very patient with students. The lecture tests were just insane. Memorize everything spell everything correctly. good luck

Professor Leonelli is straightforward about his grading system and seems like at one point in time, loved to teach. Nowadays, he's pessimistic about his lectures, constantly reciting "you guys probably don't care about this stuff" creating an awkward environment. Be prepared for questions on his nitpicky grading, but study hard and you'll pass.

Exams are hard if u procrastinate. Study his team doc. as u go,lots of material to memorize! He tells u EXACTLY what to know/study for so essay is easy if u practice beforehand. Organized, straightforward, point system, tries not to make lecture boring. If ur good at memorization & don't procrastinate, class will be easy. Don't be late!

This guy is a creationist. Instead of teaching evolution as part of this course, he attacked it. If you have any interest in biology, you won't get what you need from this guy.

A great teacher. He is passionate and knows what hes talking about. His class is, however, very hard. He expects the best from everyone, and expects everyone to be on time and ready to learn. You must study for his class. He gives you everything you need in order to help out.

People who rated this professor down and say that he is unhelpful are just making excuses for their lack of studying. This guy gives you everything you need to prepare for his exams-- Notes, interesting and thorough lectures, pictures for the lab tests, etc. If you don't study them, it's your own fault. If you're willing to put the effort, take him

He is an "intelligent Design" advocate. Beware if you are vocal in your support of evolution. He avoids the book at all cost because of his personal views. Overall a nice guy, but mediocre at teaching. Look for a real bio teacher who supports and teaches evidence backed science, not personal religious views.
