She is a really entertaining professor. She is very casual in class, and spends the first 10-15 minutes just discussing life events with the class. She's really funny and smart. THe downside is she's not too clear on grading requirements and criteria, and is tough when grading papers after not being clear with instructions. I took her more thanonce

Extremely liberal, but its bearable because she doesn't pretend to be unbiased like so many other professors. She knows she is extremely far to the left and is open about it. Classes are always interesting and discussion based. Very little homework and few quizzes. Overall a very good class.

Truly an amazing professor. She cares about inequality and the gender gap. She is a real teacher, she wants us to learn, and you can't miss her passion for the material.

During Honors Capstone presentations, she constantly scoffed & made faces at the presenters- all the while wearing her sweatsuit from the clearance section of JCPenney- then asked unclear and unnecessary questions to each presenter (that was not hers) throughout the day. Instead of bashing on people, encourage them, or at least dress the part.

She's very unclear on the paper and the project. Dont ever use any sort of technology in class because it will bring your grade down because she would assume you do other stuff other than notetaking, need to participate in class, She is a very tough grader and would not bother to speak to you about your grades after finals until next semester start

I am very surprised by the so-so reviews of Dobscha. I found her class to be extremely interesting and not in the least bit boring. While this may in part be due to me being a marketing major, I thought she was really enthusiastic, engaging and made the class fun. Totally would recommend!

Class discussions were very engaging. I felt like I learned something new every class and enjoyed going to class. But, our grade was mostly based off of weekly quizzes and then an individual paper and a large group project. As long as you talk to her and make sure you are doing what she wants for the assignments, you will do pretty well.

Comment:

Class itself is very enjoyable and you learn a lot during each session. However, there are two main assignments for the grade in this class, but they are very unclear. I basically had to do the assignment as best as I could and hope I provided what she wanted. There are also better ways to present projects now, than using tri-fold boards.
