Comment:

This professor is incredibly biased. She went so far as to ban the word "Trump" in her classroom. There is no sharing of ideas and no diversity in her classroom because she only allows one viewpoint (hers). I got the worst grade in her class out of my entire time at Elon, if you dont agree with her viewpoints you will not succeed in her class.

Comment:

Dr. Manring is a nice lady, but her class is terrible. Management is kind of pointless, like if you don't know how to set up a successful group dynamic by now then you should not be in college. Her tests are hard, mostly because it's multiple choice and she never really says what answer she is looking for. Short answers on exams easy points.

I didn't hate her as a person and overall she was fairly understanding. She just expected us to read an entire 300+ page book in like a week which was a bit insane.

She assigns unnecessary written work due every class and actually reads and grades them. She makes you read 4 books, each in about a week and assigns a 1500 page essay on each of them. There's definitely way easier Global professors.

Honestly don't think see taught me anything in this class, I did all the learning from the book. Her lectures were just reading off powerpoints that had nothing on them relevant to the test, and she graded papers as if we were applying for a doctorate. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away you can!!! Don't do this to yourself!!!

Honestly this is the worst teacher I have had at elon. Classes are boring and all she does is ramble on reading off powerpoints and talking about hypothetical situations. Assigns tons of busy work and projects that have no real world connection. Not a terrible grader.

Dr. Manring gives a lot of work when it comes to Global compared to other teachers and most of it is busy work. She uses the book Understanding the Global Experience which may be the most boring book in existence. However, she is understanding with pushing off many deadlines throughout the year. Try to take an easier teacher for global.

Terrible teacher, never goes over information just expects the students to read and the discuss the chapters in class with no guidance. I had no idea what were going to be the major points on a test and she never really taught at all. DO NOT TAKE HER

Comment:

She was never taught how to smile, so she curls her lips upward at the oddest times. She seems extremely fake when she talks, and for the most part, her talking is fairly boring. However, the class itself is pretty easy. A lot of papers, but you get used to it. She gave me 3% extra credit for attending a presentation of hers, so it's not very hard.

She gives pointless assignments and the most busy work. We have to write so many papers even if they are not relevant to what we are talking about. Her homeworks are pointless and take long to finish and they're only 1 point. Not clear on what she is looking for. Treats her class like it is the only class you are taking. Avoid if possible.

To put it simply... she sucks. You do pointless work on a daily basis and class never gets out early. She is pretty awkward as well and doesnt explain things clearly even after trying for 10minutes. Her quizzes are set up to make the class fail and feel stupid. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!

I did not enjoy this class, it is a lot of material to cover and her ppts average 60 slides. lots of busy work assigned and lots of personal assessments. She isnt always clear on what she expects of graded assignments.
