She has a nice heart, but most of the lectures seem very lack luster and sometimes she even misses one of your assignments, which there are very little of. So if 1 of your papers isn't on blackboard, you're grade is cooked even if you did everything. I could have had a B+ , but she forgot to grade one of my papers and I got a C. Easy class/Kindafun

If you aren't at all interested in classical/ old music I would not recommend this class. 1 paper where you have to go to a concert on campus and write about it (2 pgs), 1 paper basically a reflection of your life and the class (6-7 pgs), midterm & final. She offers a lot of extra credit which will save your grade if you do bad on a test.

She has a very boring class, if you wish to gain extra credit you basically have to spend $3 for a (possible) extra 15 points added to her 350 point system. She only gives 2 tests so you better study the composers and their whole life history if you wish to pass. I wouldn't recommend this class for your GE, she acknowledges that but still difficult

She is a nice professor by all means, but her courses are very dry and will make any student fall asleep right where they sit. I love american history and thought that the course (Music of the New World) would pull me right in with excitement, but that was unfortunately not the case. I strongly recommend that people take other GE courses.

If you want to get a nice 3 hour nap in during the day, then take classes with Susan. She is nice and means well but she can't make classical music interesting for the life of her. She is a very easy grader and loves to give out extra credit. Make sure you study though, her tests can be challenging if you don't know music.

Easy A as long as you do all the papers required for this class. Also has extra credit opportunities which should be taken advantage of. She is a wonderful professor, and has some amazing lectures about different types of music and pieces of music. she also lets the class listen to the music during class time. it was an easy A!

Great Professor so long as u maintain communication. Easy A and she's flexible about attendance. The class can get a little boring but the concerts were great. I think she's great professor. So long as youre respectful so is she. 3 essays a final and a midterm. NO homework.

She is one of the most BORING professors I have ever had. She treats you like you are back in high school. There are unnecessary essays for a music GE course. I regret taking this class so much. Don't recommend any of her classes.

Susan is a very sweet and kind person. However this class felt like a waste of my time, no one took it seriously, the class size was way too big and everyone was loud, disrespectful, etc. It was difficult to learn anything and there was too much information packed into the semester. Despite this, she was a lenient grader so I did ok in the end.

Seligman's Masterworks of Western Music class is really easy, and with that, incredibly boring. The lectures are super long, and while you listen to music during them, it's not thrilling. Grading is easy. Two tests (midterm and final), one concert response paper, one 7-8 page essay about your life. Takes attendance but it doesn't count in the grade

WORST CLASS. If you're taking a GE do NOT take this class. It's only an easy A if you STUDY and know music. You're only allowed ONE absence. I rather be shot in the foot than sit through her class. If you even whisper, she WILL call you out and embarrass you.

GREAT CLASS, PROF UNDERSTANDING TOO AND FLEXIBLE WITH ATTENDANCE. THE CLASS IS NOT BORING ITS JUST A THREE HOUR CLASS IT CAN BE OVERWHELMING. YOU SHOULDN'T TALK DURING LECTURES-ITS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL AND A BIT ANNOYING TO STUDENTS WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR STUDIES-SHE GETS ANNOYED AND I DON'T BLAME HER-GROW UP :) great class/not stressful

Worst class I've ever taken and worst professor I've ever had. It's extremely easy if you want to get your GE out of the way, but it will feel like hell. Her class is the most boring thing you can ever imagine, she over explains EVERYTHING, and she freaks out if anyone speaks one word. The concerts you go to are cool, but the class is still torture

I HATED THIS CLASS. If you are looking for a gen-ed requirement LOOK ELSEWHERE. I could not sit through this class, and attendance is mandatory. Also, you have to pay for every concert. You can't speak or she'll personally victimize you. DO NOT TAKE.

Absolutely wonderful woman. The class feels never-ending at times, but it wasn't too hard to get through. Her assignments are not difficult and she is a very fair grader. I plan on taking another class with her because I literally adore her and her personality. TAKE A CLASS WITH HER

Really easy course, but very boring. She reads notes word for word as her lesson and plays videos. As long as you show up and do the assignments (theres only 2) its an easy A.

The class is definitely an easy A, but the lectures are painful to get through. She's a bit crazy when people talk while she wants them to be quiet and don't be surprised if she puts her cello playing over grading your papers or tests. There's never any homework except for the occasional paper on a concert and the midterm and final were easy.
