Kate is a solid choice, she cares a lot that you do well in her course. I had her for both Art 100 and botanical drawing. The class blocks can be difficult to stay focused when they're 3h long, however she is very chill and even makes you tea in class! Medium grader.

Comment:

Not a good teacher at all. Has very strong opinions of what she likes and doesn't like, and so there is no room for personality in artwork because everything must fit to her standards. Very rude to students who are not top notch artists. Draws on your pieces to try and change them. Would not recommend.

Nice enough teacher. Talks too much in class-- rarely has positive critiques. Sometimes draws/paints on the piece you've been working on to try to change it. Not a bad marker though. Seems like more of a hobbiest than a teacher.

Her class is great, she is very helpful and gives a lot of examples before you start into a project. She marks well, as long as you make an effort you will get a good grade no matter what your artistic ability is
