She is one of my favorite teachers this semester. She gives a lot of homework but its super easy. Honestly you kinda have to try and fail her class its that easy. Took this class last semester with a diff teacher and he was awful but she made it so clear and easy. Would take her class any day

Comment:

Mrs. Sweney was a great teacher, she is patient when you don't understand or get stuck in a problem she doesn't move on until you understand. She gives good feed back and offers her time to help you after or before class if you need it. I wish she would teach MTH 170 to take her class again. Very nice lady.

Amazing at explaining math, making it easier to understand. If you have a question she definitely encourages you to ask. She also adds humor to her lectures and gets the class involved. She gives sample tests so that you know ahead of time what is to be expected. Tests are easy if you do homework & pay attention in class. Highly recommend her!

Makes algebra easy to learn. will go over questions til you understand. sometimes makes people feel dumb when they ask questions(like a few reviews said on here) originally that made me take another class and I hated the prof so much so I switch into hers and am so glad I did. Always offers a lot extra credit points on tests too. Accepts late work

She is amazing. She explains Algebra so that its easy to understand. If you have a question she encourages you to ask. She adds humor and gets the class envolved. I really recommend her. He test went hard if you study and do the homework.

Nice teacher, really hard to ask questions she makes you feel dumb. Class is easy as long as you do the homework and show up to class on time there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. Still easy A.

Mrs. Sweney is an incredible teacher. She expects you to be at every class and give a good effort and attitude. Her lectures are very clear and she does not skip steps as many other math teachers do. She ALWAYS encourages everyone to stay after class for help. I have always struggled in math and I passed with a 98%. Excellent teacher.

class is very easy, but if you can't handle being talked down to this might not be the class for you. as a teacher she was fine, but i really do not susan as an individual. she is very rude and makes you feel stupid for asking questions.

Extremely rude professor. Great teaching skills, but -150/10 people skills. If you ask a question or don't understand right away, expect to feel embarrassed by her. There's a lot of homework 24/7, but not too difficult. Tests are easy because they follow along a study test you receive beforehand. Other than people skills, very helpful teacher.

Loves phrases such as "Ohhhhh, that's too bad," and "It's really not that hard," if you get a problem wrong. Easy teacher, lots of homework, she makes tests and extra credit easy. Good at teaching, not so good at people skills.

It was my third time take this class, she reviews the material that you learned in the math 091 works up to the material you will learn in the class instead of just jumping right in. If you don't understand anything you can stay after class and she will help you out. She gives extra on test to help with your grade and she does work with you.

Wonderful teacher. Really amazing at explaining algebra with step by step directions. Will stay after class to help if you don't understand. There is alot of homework. Don't miss class if your not math savvy because you will be lost. She offers alot of extra credit on tests. One of the best teachers I've ever had.

Susan Sweney is an excellent TEACHER. Her people skills, however, are lacking. She treats college students like elementary kids. "If you disrespect me, I'll disrespect you". If you're okay with being belittled in front of everyone when you ask a question- take her. Good at math, no respect for her students.

With all honestly, Prof Sweney was a great teacher. She makes sure her students know the material before moving on to the next lesson. She gives a lot of EC opportunities to make sure you will pass her class. If you have a perfect attendance in her class you can receive around 20 points worth EC! I'd definitely take her class again, she rocks! :)

I would agree that she does not mean any harm as to how she response to students when they have a little trouble with a problem. But you have to get pass that. She is very concern that her students understand and will go over review sheets and homework to make it easier to grasp. I would say she is very organized, which makes it go smoothly.
