Comment:

A nice guy, but not a very good class. Very disorganized and hard to follow. I never even bought the textbook. While there were no assignments until the end of the semester, all quizzes were online and really hard. I didn't learn much and would not recommend him. Class members said he didn't respond to email or help them at all. No good.

Horrible! We did nothing all semester and then he wants it all done the last week. If you want to sleep for 15 out of 16 weeks, then have to do 15 weeks worth of makeup stuff during finals week then take him.

Do not take him, he is supposed to be the assistant chairperson and he should not be in that position or teaching. He is the least helpful professor to his students, he does not want to see them succeed....he does not respond to e-mails and he disappears for weeks at a time. IN SHORT, DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!

Nicest professor ever... He explains everything perfectly clear, gives review sheets for exactly what is going to be on the test, and lets you use note cards. Easy A if you just take decent notes.

Mahon is a brilliant man with a lot to offer. If you are willing to put in work, and study, you will do fine. You get what you deserve, nothing more or less. Take advantage of having a decent professor at WPU and take him.

Had this guy for Soc. Strat. He's a nice man but awful professor. Big procrastinator at giving grades back, his writing is unreadable and his exams are very difficult...mostly essay. Fortunatly he curves though. I wouldn't reccomend him.

this professor is the worst!! i took it online!! takes forever to grades things.takes too long to reply back to emails...wayy to much reading..n you have to do a 10 pg paper..itz just way too much for this course..i definitly would not recommend this prof..unless if you really need it..online examz are way too hard...

Extremely disorganized. Was MIA for at least 6 weeks this semester so we missed a lot of things we were supposed to cover. Terrible with responding to e-mails in a timely fashion and just missed the deadline to submit grades for the Spring semester. Would not recommend. Oh, and we barely used the text - he gave us a ton of other things to read

He is funny! I enjoyed him, but he goes off on tangents and usually holds you until the end of class, i have him til 940 so it gets long. he is funny though and definitely helpful! he got behind this semester, so we've lucked out with tests!

He tests sucks big time. He gives you 6 midterms with 24 essay questions on each. And he world the test questions completely different from he reviews so you have no clue what he is asking on the test. I wouldent expect anything higher then a B in this course and that is with puting in at 10 extra hours a week to study for his test!!!!!!!!!

Tough class but he is very helpful. Don't miss too many classes because there's a ton of information to take in. Class is made up of all quizzes, no papers or anything, but he realeases a study guide before hand and lets you put notes on a note card. Quizzes are usually curved as well. Mahon is very nice and genuinely cares about his students.

Very willing to help a student out in need. But sadly, he is very boring. Soc. Theory is a boring class itself so I dont think I can blame him too much. When its a 9:30AM class be sure to bring your coffee...likes to ramble too.

very very very boring. he rambles alot. he doesnt review at all, he taught new stuff up until the last day of class. he also throws in some politics stuff and math, which shouldnt be involved in a sociology class, and he expects you to do math on the final and other tests. the only bright side is that he doesnt give papers, just small report things

he is a pretty nice guy, he is funny sometimes. he explains things alot, and uses pretty good examples to get his teachings across.he gives 3 "midterms", what the hell is that?? he gave one the 2nd week of october and one the last class before thanksgiving break. stupid. instead of papers he gives you little experiments or projects due in a week.
