Comment:

The comments about Dr. Mathews being a bad professor are absurd. She is easily one of the best professors at Wright State. I'm not saying it was a super easy class, but that is the point. We shouldn't want to just be handed A's. I learned so much in her class, and she also served as a mentor to me as a future teacher. I appreciated every class.

This class was one of the worst math classes so far. It had nothing to do with mathematics education. She confused everyone constantly. Just bend over, take it, and move on.

have to agree with the first rating. not a great professor, and the class has NOTHING to do with middle school education. Felt like I NEVER knew what was going on in the class.... even from day one!! :o(

This class was a waste of time. Not only does it not deal with middle school math, but Dr. Mathews does not teach it at all. She is never clear on anything.

Comment:

This class is, on the whole, fairly easy and isn't too much work either. The concepts can be tough, but Dr. Mathews really helps you to understand it. I did think the final problem was stupid, though, and very poorly designed (and I usually don't feel this way about anything). Overall, Dr. Mathews is very easy, very nice, and a great teacher.

Dr. Mathews was a wonderful professor. Her explanations were clear and she did everything possible to help all students understand. She even dropped one assignment as to not overwhelm us. I definitly recommend her for any class.

Dr. Mathews is an excellent professor. The only thing I did not like about her is that student expectations (in the way of assignments and when they will be do) are unclear until she passes out the rubric for each assignment. Other than that, she is very nice and very helpfulâ€"a good professor.

She made a snap judgment of my intelligence which created some personality conflicts. Was very open to me when confronted and we worked things out. Ended up loving the class and learning more than just math.

This class sounded like a nightmare to me, but I had to take it, and I actually enjoyed it! Susann is an excellent teacher who wants her students to succeed. She's always encouraging questions and wants you to understand everything. Lots of group work. I hate math but I didnt mind this course at all
