Ton's of reading and a lot of the reading is very very difficult to analyze and comprehend because of the extensive and elevated vocabulary, as well as the length and amount of information you need to intake each week. You almost should be an expert and very well versed on Latin America before coming into the class. All writing and no tests.

Comment:

The content can be difficult but Dr. Rhodes is easy going. It's a discussion board question per week then an essay every other week. Once you get into the groove of what's expected they're easy, don't overthink them. No quizzes or tests. You can tell she cares about the subject matter and gives you all the resources you need to get an A.

She's very good at getting your assignments back to you in a timely manner. She grades papers very easily. I don't know how she is in a real version of this class, but she was pretty easy to get a hold of and fairly helpful with the online class.

Dr. Rhodes knows her stuff, that's for sure. Her lectures were pretty straight forward, but the exams and writing assignments were pretty tough. Just be prepared to put in some work.

Took a little while to get into the groove of Dr. Rhodes' class, but ended positively and ended up truly enjoying the class. Great person, needs a little more confidence in front of the classroom, but is always willing to explain and help.

Sybil is a wonderful instructor. She is new to the game, and that shows with her awkward approach. Anyone that didn't do well in her class simply doesn't know what to do with a prof that doesn't hand them answers. You HAVE to think...what an idea!

Boring class, very bad lecturer. She talks too long about one subject and her tests are confusing. Pray you get a good TA, mine was worse than the prof and couldn't explain anything at all.

Scatterbrained, nervous, and words tests poorly. I got all the help I needed from the TA who knew the subject much better.
