A very easy going prof. Course materials are not easy, but very helpful is you major in finance. You do have to put some efforts into the course, but it's easy to earn a good mark at the end.

His lecture is not the easiest to follow. Final exam is like new materials altogether. Typos are his trademarks in lectures and assignment solutions making it difficult to trust the solutions. He has a good sense of humor though, and very helpful on and off the class.

Comment:
One of the most interesting courses in Finance. Learn about concepts in derivatives, actual products and even use MatLab to price a live-trading derivative product. Case studies also add color to the subject. Prof is very knowledgeable, even though he speaks with an accent and slight slur. Very supportive of student career development.

The content of the course itself is not difficult. However, Professor Wang's lectures are dull, and he presents content in ways that are difficult to follow. I found it frustrating trying to get through the course, and I would heavily recommend against him.

Comment:
very unhelpful if u email him, procrastinates on giving assignments and makes them due at about the same date as other finance classes, boring lectures, often reads off his slides- sometimes he takes a minute to read the slide silently in his head so that he'll know what to talk about, posted the formula sheet night b4 the midterm.

His major strength is investments and assets pricing, so he is not familiar with corporate finance. This shows when the taught the class as the lectures are very dull and boring.

At least this guy can speak English. Probably one of the better profs in the Finance division (and that isn't saying much!). A pretty dull course but it's mandatory for Finance students so good luck!

The course itself isn't too exciting, Tan's assignments are where you do the learning. The midterm and final are about equal in difficulty and the lectures don't get too interesting nor complicated.
