Comment:
Dr. Karamanski is my favorite professor at Loyola. So far I have taken two of his classes and plan to take a third. He's funny, engaging, and cares about his students. There are three tests which are super easy because he gives you a study guide with all the terms you need to know. Hardest part of the class is the term research paper. Take him!!

Third time taking Karamanski and once again he did not disappoint. Very knowledgeable, funny and he keeps his lectures interesting. The best way to summarize his grading is that he's one of the easiest B's but quite possibly the hardest A in the history department.

The subject itself of the Vietnam war was difficult. Dr. Karamanski expects a lot from his students and while we all can't be geniuses, the course is worth taking if only for the fact that it will totally change your perspective on what it was all about.

Let's just say, very interested in Civil War... Brought a riffle to class one day and shot it off (blanks)... brought in lots of props and costumes to give better feel of what was going on. 2 tests and a paper, I'm not a great writer but I loved this class none the less.

The American history grad students have decided there could be a concentration in Karamanski. T. is incredibly interesting, informative, sweet, encouraging... he reminds me why I'm in it for the long haul, and reassures me that I am a worthwhile scholar. Had him for 19th c. America and American West -- both incredible classes. I adore him.

Totally engaging! He makes the Vietnam war really interesting. He's kind of a tough grader, but fair. The essays tests were easy enough. Do the readings, take notes in class. Also, he's pretty hot

While the material can be depressing and saddening, somehow he made it enjoyable to learn. The use of overhead slides and videos enabled the student to get a clear picture of the time period and what was going on. I would recommend this class the next time it is offered in a heartbeat. He always encourages his students to do their best.

The class was very interesting and the professor is very clear, helpful and funny. There is not homeoworks except readings and there are three-four tests. Take good notes and that would be enough for this class. No need of book since the questions comes from his lectures. Tests are not that easy.

Possibly the best history class and professor I have ever had. Never once did I ever feel like not going to this class. Tests are good so long as you take good notes and the paper is a breeze to get through. You can't find a better history teacher than Karamanski!

I thought my first history class was unique, but , but I that was before Prof. Karamanski. He takes one of the dullest subjects and makes it interesting and FUN.He gives the appearance of being reserved but that is probably his protective barrier. He is a nice and considerate person. I do wish that

He is the absolute BEST history teacher EVER. I loved his class so so much that I was actually sad when it was over. Dont miss a day of class, he tests directly from his lectures. He tells history in a storybook fashion. A+++++

Make sure you participate, that is worth 25% of your grade. Make sure you read and know his assignments when you come to class because they will be discussed the next day. Tests are only 20 questions but you can only miss a few to pass.
