Professor Baumgarte is an incredible teacher, and, despite the grim Germanic image he likes to present, is actually a really nice and understanding guy. He does seem to take a slightly sadistic pleasure in scheduling his courses early in the morning and laughing at his students' pain. Such students are probably unworthy, however.

He has the best sense of humor ever in the history of humankind. European charm. "Imagine a frog in a cereal box in outer space" etc. He also keeps a marshmellow in his pocket. Absolutely the nicest guy ever.

Great teacher. Students who don't like his intro class don't get that his approach makes them actually learn the stuff!
