His lectures are extremely boring & he talks the entire time or past time to go. The class itself was not too difficult, but be prepared to read & write papers over and over all semester long. There is also a big research essay that is a bit of a pain. Overall, not a terrible class, but I definitely would not take again due to the heavy lectures.

Classes, long & boring. Easy A if he likes you (show up for every class, do the extra credit early in the semester, answer questions in class to stand out) Take notes!!! If U use what he says about the works on the midterm & final writings, it's a BIG plus! He will also give a higher grade on ur essays if u ask questions as u write.

Mr. Kelley is the best English teacher Ive ever had! It has been my busiest class when it comes to work (reading two novels and writing essays) but very doable. He is very nice and always ready to help his students! I highly recommend.

I've always enjoyed English and writing papers but Mr. Kelley can be somewhat boring at times. He does allow you to revise your first two papers so that is an added bonus! He also has very clear grading criteria. Just be sure you know what you're talking about in your papers and double check grammar and you'll do fine.

Mr Kelley isnt super hard. As a person, hes not so bad. But get ready for essays. As long as you do the assignments and read the books and show up for labs, you should pass. Hes not clear on alot of things but he does help if you ask. I understand he grades alot of essays but hes the only instructor that wouldnt grade papers for 3-4 weeks. grrr

Mr. Kelley was a super easy teacher and made English more fun for me. I am not one for a word minimum when it comes to papers but most of his essays only require 500 words. Gives lots of lab time to write papers and a chance to revise for a better grade. Overall I recommend him! Easy A with little effort.

Only way Tim Kelley received good reviews is if he entered them himself. No problem with a teacher being strict, but it's blatantly evident he hates his job, and does not want to be teaching. If you dare ask him a question, be prepared to be embarrassed. He belittles every person that has the gall to ask anything.

As for the quizzes, if you read spark notes you'll ace them all. Seems like he gives his students B's more than anything. He grades critically, yet if you know what you're talking about and it makes sense then you're going to have a good grade. Talks 'til last minute in class. He's really understanding and helpful if you need it.

I took Kelley for the first part of literature. His lectures were very boring and he always talked until the very end, sometimes over class time. He usually doesn't give many A's but if you read the stories you should be fine. He Is a really nice guy. A little strange but I liked him. He would help if you needed it or had questions.

I took him during the summer and the class was easy as long as you read the books and did all your essays. The two books we had to read were very short (bc it was a summer class) and our research paper was only 600 words. His lectures are boring but if you can make it through those I would deff recommend him. He's very helpful. Will not allow extra credit. But let's your revise your first 3 essays if you want to. Easy a in my opinion

Nice guy, pretty good teacher. But rambles so much in class! I almost dreaded going to class just because I was constantly bored. Just read the assigned works & you'll be fine though- because he lets you use books/notes on test. (Took for ENG 251)

MR KELLEY IS AN EXCELLENT TEACHER. PROBABALY THE BEST ENGLISH TEACHER NW SHOALS HAS. I TRIED TO TAKE MRS THORNTON IN THE SUMMER OF 2011. WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS. I HAD TO DROP HER CLASS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT A MERCY C. I HAVE NEVER MADE A C IN ANY CLASS. MR KELLEY IS A MUCH BETTER PROFESSOR. I HAVE MADE A B IN BOTH ENG 101 & 102.

Mr. Kelley is awesome. He also: responds to emails and in a timely manner, will schedule office appointments for any questions, is very patient, and doesn't brush you off because "you should have learned that in high school". He seems to actually care about the success of his students, and is always willing to help. If you take anyone other than Mr. Kelley for English, you're really missing out.

He's a great teacher. He is very kind and has a great sense of humor. He seems very passionate about what he does. He expects you to do the work but is willing to make one on one appointments if you are having trouble understanding the material.

Great teacher. Very patient guy. He isn't one of those teachers who never remember their students, I took class with him last summer and seen him just the other day and he actually remembered who I was. I actually haven't enrolled for ENG 102 yet because I am waiting on a chance to take it with him.

Very good teacher. He gives chances to revise bad grades and likely changes them if you make an effort at it. His final research paper for 101 and 102 is a bit stressful 7 pages. however this is short compared to some professors. Like others say very boring voice but if you write your papers you will make atleast a B.
