Comment:

A good professor! Makes math easy. Will even give you his phone number and help you out outside of class if needed. Test reviews were awesome, matched the test almost identical just different numbers. Some homework but not too excessive. Homework he checks for completeness on test days. Overall easy class

Dr. Magnavita was an excellent online teacher. When I was confused, he made time to explain everything I didn't get over the phone even when our schedules didn't coincide. His tests are very straightforward and reflect the review guides. If you show him you care and you take the time to do the work, you won't have a problem doing well.

Comment:

Magnavita was an interesting fellow. Rather condescending if you need clarification on a concept, but he reluctantly attempted to clear up the confusion anyway. He had a way of teaching that somehow stuck with students. Not sure how, as he didn't seem to try very hard. That being said, I learned got an A and learned a bit too.

I would take him again! There were about 6 people in my class so all of us had to participate. In other words, you had to understand everything and if you didn't he would help you individually. Chill and understanding guy overall. Took the whole class out to an Asian restaurant last day of class! Who does that?! How awesome!

He's a rude individual who thinks he's amazing. Doesn't let you drink coffee in a night class. Explains the material horribly but is a very easy grader. Doesn't teach the subject, but rather teaches how to solve problems with a calculator. Is an easy A worth putting up with his arrogance and monotony? That's up to you.

This may come off harsh, but this guy is useless. Taking the class online, he does literally nothing at all. It seems like he posts the syllabus at the start of the course, and then goes into hibernation for four months. He doesn't post test grades to give an idea of how your doing, just one surprise grade at the end of the semester, what a joke.

I was incredibly disappointed at how terrible he was! Maybe he's better in person, but I took his online math class and was shocked. He was rude and very unhelpful when I did manage to contact him, and I was essentially teaching myself math. Why did I pay for this class again? You're better off Googling math than taking this online course.

His teaching methods are clear and concise. Doesn't really take an interest in his students but still a perfectly nice guy. Workload is normal and if you struggle he's definitely willing to try and help. I would definitely take him again.

I did not regret taking his class. He is an awesome professor. I suck at math but felt complete confidence during testing. Yes he seems a bit grouchy at first, but he lightens up once you show him how much effort you are putting forth. He is willing to help if you ask for it. Always ask questions when needed! I gaurentee you will pass if you do hw.

I hated math leading up to this class and was pretty positive it was going to kill my GPA. Magnavita made the lessons so clear and for the first time I was confident going into exams. Awesome guy, makes you want to go to class so you get a better understanding. Highly Recommended!

Great teacher! I usually blow it at math, but I got an A in his class. How'd I get an A, u ask? I bugged the crap out of him. I'd ask questions mid lecture, call him, go to his office twice a week without an appointment. He's intimidating at 1st, but if you man up an admit when you don't understand something, HE WILL TAKE THE TIME TO TEACH YOU

The begining and the first test is the hardest...just pass the first test. yeah, hes hand outs before test are great! study them and youll be fine. likes to scare you but not a hard class at all. just seems hard at first...the guy is like a dry dezert but the class gets kinda fun. It was a summer class.

he is a great teacher. honestly I wasn't the best at attendance but he made things so clear for me and he truly wants you to do well. he doesn't use the text other than for homework which is optional as extra credit which I loved! he makes it so easy for you i recommend him 100%.

He does not explain step by step and takes short cuts. There are a lot of home work problems that he did not explained in class. He's not respectful to the class and makes corny jokes about students who came/paid for being tought and not made fun off by a bald old guy.As few comments said, you learn the subj by your self. Normally I'm bad with math but I greatly enjoyed this class. He is very clear at explaining things and if you have a question he is glad to answer it. He comes off as intimidating at first but the class was actually rather funny most the time. As long as you put in effort and do the homework you will be fine. Just don't come to class unprepared.

If you plan on taking Magnavita online, DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is the least bit helpful in responding to e-mails and he is nearly impossible to reach via phone. He never seemed to receive my e-mails and it was always a hassle to contact him to get the grade I deserved. If you plan on taking statistics online, you'd be better off picking another prof.

I hadn't taken a math course in a while so have been fearful of them. Magnavita couldn't have me me feel any more ridiculous for being fearful. His approach is practically fool-proof. He makes himself available, throughly explains everything and works at the class pace. I refuse to take any other professor for future math classes.
