By far one of the best college courses I have ever taken. Prof Olsen is extremely organized, set clear expectations, and very interesting course work. He give back assignments in a timely manner, and always provides great feedback. Professor Olsen touched my heart, he really cared about his students ACTUALLY learning throughout the semester. happy!

Comment:

Definitely my favorite professor so far. I took his Shakespeare course as a gen ed and found it very interesting and will really miss it next semester. His class is definitely not an easy A but he keeps the class engaging and makes Shakespeare very accessible. He's also one of the most caring professors and wants his students to succeed.

Professor Olsen is definitely my favorite professor at New Paltz. He really cares about English Lit and knows how to engage the entire class. He makes Shakespeare fun! There were only 2 papers and 3 web assignments to complete at any time throughout the semester. I can't recommend this guy enough!

He is the best professor Ive ever had! If you are going into education, his class is a great model of what an ideal classroom would look like. He breaths life into flat topics, turning them into something mysterious and exciting. His presence is kind, patient, happy, and uplifting. And if you're looking for an A he will do his very best to help

I took Introduction to British Literature with Professor Olsen. He selected a broad range of wonderful texts to read, giving as great a sample of Brit lit canon as one can do in a semester. Olsen is incredibly patient, smart, and caring. His class, which included lecture but was mostly class discussion, was never boring.

I had Thomas Olsen for my spring semester and he was amazing!! I loved it! I didn't think I would enjoy Shakespeare but he made it so interesting!! A must take Professor. One of our assignments was to go to the school play and write a review on it. It was great! You have to participate but he will honestly make it easy. Lots of movie clips too.

I had Dr. Olsen back in 2003, and he's honestly one of the best I've ever had. I wouldn't say I was inspired to study Early English Lit, but he made us love it at the time. I'm a professor now, and he's one of my role models as far as teaching is concerned. Thank you for your lessons that extend beyond the classroom.

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He is a tough grader, but it is worth it! If you aren't comfortable with Shakespeare, this is the professor to go to. Don't expect this class to be easy, you need to participate and put effort into the assignments, but he's an amazing instructor and you will learn a lot in any of his courses.

Thomas Olsen is an angel on earth! If you are an English majorminor you must take at least one class with him. He's always willing to help you with assignments and he makes Shakespeare fun and enjoyable. I can never say enough positive things about him!

Best English professor. He's so nice and very understanding. Tests are straightforward, and he makes sure to let you know what's on them ahead of time. I definitely recommend his classes. He made even bland texts seem fun and interesting. (His handwriting is completely illegible though, but that's his only downside haha)

I love love love Olsen! He is the best professor ever!! If you are an Eng. major/minor you need to take at least 1 class with him! His Shakespeare class is not super easy, but he makes it a lot of fun and very interesting. Fair grader and so straightforward. Plus he is soo helpful if you need something. I would highly highly recommend!

He was definititely the best English teacher I've had. He made me wish that I had chosen English as my concentration. He was helpful, understanding, and wanted nothing more than success. It's hard work but well worth it. I wish I could have taken him with me to my history classes. Definitely take classes with him!!!
