Maz is a great professor. His lecture examples are really helpful in understanding how to solve the problems. The homework problems are very hard, but they're worth 4 points each. The test problems are much easier, but he does not give partial credit. You have to be pretty perfect on his tests to do well. Note: the final is usually 4 hours long

Maz is a great guy and professor. He expects your all for the class. The homeworks are tough but for the tests, they are much easier the questions. I would focus on the tests more. He has old exams on his website. Very smart guy all around. I would definitely take him again.

Comment:

One of the best math classes I ever took. Mazmanian is a gifted lecturer. His notes are so clear and concise, I hardly had to refer to textbook. Tests can be hard, but if you study the notes carefully, you'll be on safe ground. He got me so interested that I started to do a math masters in addition to my coursework.

Maz is fantastic. He really knows his stuff and is a great teacher. Most impressive thing though is that he uses no notes in class, just straight from his head to the board. Sense of humor makes class easier to deal with.

he's so cute! and at first verryyyy intimidating but once the "ice breaks" hes a very caring and helpful teacher and i LOVE his subtle sence of sarcastic humor. It's the best. you will definitely learn in his class!

Not as great as his reputation. Instead of explaining the tricks of calculus he just does example after example without actually explaining anything. This works well for the majority of engineering students who just want to "plug and chug", but to those who need a conceptual understanding of the material, it makes MA221 impossible.

Hardest class I've taken so far at Stevens, but by far the most rewarding. He is a difficult teacher, but if you work hard and pay attention, you will learn a lot. He has a very subtle, but funny, sense of humor.

Yes, he's gonna give out easy tests so you can effortlessly get an A+, but if you do your hw and go to class there is no reason why you can't do well. He is helpful if you go to him during office hours and ask for extra help. Plus doing problems is really the only way to learn this calc crap, not pointless proofs and theory.

I graduated 9 years ago and after receiving 2 grad degrees am convinced he is the worst professor I have ever had. Worse than the professors who cannot speak English or drone on. His smugness is unbareable. His exams highlight his passive/agressive personality. I received an A in his class by attending other prof's classes starting 3rd week
