Coats is a great guy! His course Modern Political Thought was extremely interesting and piqued my interested in political theory. Two essays and a final will determine your grade for this class, so don't mess up on anything. Coats is extremely interesting and has many stories to tell. If you want to get the most out of his class, participate!

Coats was really nice and very understanding, but I couldn't even come close to following the lectures. They were very scattered, and the goals of the course were not clear. (I literally do not have a single memory of anything taught in that class, because none of it seemed relevent, because there was no clear 'point' being made.)
