I took Dr. Jordan for GBK202. It was definitely the hardest class I've taken at Mercer, but also the most rewarding. Yes, theres was a lot of work, and yes, he is a tough grader, but if you put in the work, read carefully (which he tells you to do at the beginning of the term), go to office hours, and participate in class, you will do well.

GBK classes rely on discussions among the students, testing our abilities to formulate and effectively articulate original thoughts. A professor's role in a GBK class is to facilitate and moderate discussions. Jordan seemed to throw us all into the deep end, posing a dull question or two and sitting back in his chair, usually greeted by silence.

He's a tough grader (A students should expect a B) and you really have to close read the textbooks, but he's a cool guy and he makes political theory interesting somehow. He's really funny and will keep you engaged with his dad jokes/general awkwardness. I wish Dr. Jordan was my dad. I do wish his class had more grades but whatever.

Dr. Jordan's class is really interesting. He always has THE BEST dad jokes (you'll love them) which lightens the mood of some pretty heavy political texts. Be sure to underline EVERY quote he reads from the text in class because it WILL be on the final or reading quiz. He makes you work for your essay grades, but it definitely improved my writing.

If anybody else taught this course, everyone would be miserable by the end of the semester. However, Dr. Jordan makes it interesting and engaging, and throws in humorous jokes from time to time to keep you paying attention. The downfall to him and this class is the reading and the essays that follow. If you don't enjoy history, take a pass.

Jordan was a great professor, but he expected students to do many more assignments than most other great books profs. He also complained about grading a lot, so papers weren't always returned in timely manner. Otherwise, the class was great and I enjoyed having him.

Dr. Jordan is very knowledgable and extremely smart. If you read and listen to his lectures you should do well in the class. Do NOT bs his papers and have your highlighter ready for the passages he reads in class. Tough class but incredibly rewarding. If you're interested in really learning, take Jordan.

Jordan is great for GBK. He regulates discussion better than a lot of GBK profs, and he's very reasonable with assignments. He makes discussion fun, and he's a really nice guy. He grades papers fairly and he's very helpful.

His classes are not easy, but they are extremely rewarding. Lectures are entertaining. His quizzes are challenging. His essays require actual thought--few people make As on them. You work for your grade in this class.

Participation is key. You need to read the assigned text in order to get anything out of the class. It isn't a bad lecture class, but I would advise taking someone else if you are not a strong writer. I have yet to figure out how he grades essays because the responses I get on my content are not what he asks for in the prompt. Hard to appease him.

He is really nice guy. This class is pretty easy. Just take really good notes in class and that will make the quizzes a breeze. He is a really hard paper grader, but go to him and let him read it before you turn it in for advice it helps. He is super cute too!

Will Jordan earnestly attempts to connect the text with any and all interpretations possible. Personally, I enjoyed the class but beware a paper written for him requires more than the run-of-the-mill last minute typing.

READ and Participate in class! Papers are easy as long as you are good at writing, i.e. if you do well in FYS, you will do well with Dr. Jordan.

his class was harder than what i expected for a 100 level course. quizzes were not difficult but dumb and also was a hard essay grader. the final was very easy if you memorized and reviewed your notes many times.

Even though you can't avoid any of the poli-sci teachers at Mercer I would suggest to try to find some way around Jordan. 3 six page papers for every class and he is a pretty hard grader.

I have been with Jordan for a few years now and I just don't get him. He is a nice enough guy, but he seems to be lacking something--maybe it is just experience. He is taking on classes that he has never taught before and failing miserably (despite what his peers will tell him to his face). Take him for theory, but otherwise, stay away!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this class. His lectures aren't too terribly boring and he will tell lame jokes to keep it more interesting. The readings can be boring, but take good notes and study them well and you'll do fine on the test. I am thinking about minoring in pol sci after this class to have more classes with him

Very interesting class. If you don't write good papers, don't take this class. In addition you need to enjoy class discussion. If you don't talk you're probably not going to get a good grade. An A/B+/B is easily obtainable.

His class is exciting if you like discussion. Talk in class to get a good grade. His tests re hard: if he reads a passage in class, it will likely be on the test, which is paragraph id and explanation. A lot of reading. Great for phi and pol students. Jordan knows his stuff and is enthusiastic. I highly recommend him. And a hottie!
