Definitely inspiring. I grew immense interest in philosophy and eventually doing a minor (or maybe even second major) after this class. If you are a curious thinking, take his class you won't regret it.

There are few teachers who are genuinely passionate about their subject and students, but Rowley is definitely one of them. I can say with certainty he is the best teacher I have ever had, and probably will have. A teacher I look up to and respect, who makes ethics interesting and encourages you to dig deeper and look at things differently.

Read the book, write the response, show up, and TALK there are no test for the class and points are majority Socratic Method aka talking in a circle and just go back and forth on several philosophy topics. Definitely a different way of teaching

Amazing teacher, really enthused about the subject, even if he wasn't totally invested in this particular semester. Easy grader, and really turned me on to Philosophy.

Interesting class. Rowley's a funny guy, kept me wide awake even though it was a night class. He explains things really well and it's almost unnecessary to read the books before class. I recommend taking him for the intro class.

Rowley's class was not my favorite. No exams is nice but the whole course is discussions and the final independent research project. However, his entire basis of grading is participation so those who didn't constantly talk couldn't get an A even with 100s on every assignment. He's a nice guy but I wont be taking one of his classes again.

Rowley is a cool and funny guy, and does provoke conversation well. He will keep your attention. However, be prepared to participate a lot. Also, avoid his Philosophy class if you hate art, because it might as well be called "Art Philosophy 101".

Easy class, but you shouldn't take it if you're not willing to participate because the class is mostly discussion and participation counts for a lot. Best part- no tests/exams, just study questions every other week and a final research paper due at the end of the semester. Rowley's a very cool guy, and the class is chill & interesting. I recommend.

Rowley is awesome. He really does care about his students, and is always willing to hear you out if you're having an issue with an assignment. The class is mostly just discussion, he doesn't lecture much at all. It is clear that he cares about what he teaches, and he is very knowledgeable in his field. Great guy, fun to be around. Highly recommend!

This guy truly cares about each student's understanding of the material, but you have to ask for his help. He won't just give you handouts, but if you get him talking, he's great. He's definitely confirmed my desire to minor in philosophy.

Though he puts on an elaboate show in class, Will failed to show me that he is much more than a comic. He spends more time making jokes than actually teaching philosophy. His cirriculum involves assigning busy work to students, so he can avoid having to lecture. Although he is quite a cool guy to talk to, he is not well fitted for philosophy.

I took Rowley's class over the summer and it turned out to be one of the best classes I have ever taken at Chapman. He's a great guy and loves to hear what everyone in the class has to say. I recommend this class to anyone who needs to the humanities credits.

I disagree with all these people, he is the worst teacher Ive had at Chapman. He seems like hes great at first, but this is so far from the truth. He limits philospohy. he wont really read your paper and hes a little too stupid for philosophy. He really made me dislike philosophy and many others.

He is so funny. Sometimes class can be a little boring because it's 3 hours long, but he makes up for it with his humor. Class is pretty easy... a bunch of small papers... He doesn't really believe in tests, so he gives only one midterm and final that take like 10 minutes, and they only count 10%.

This guy makes me want to go to class, even if I haven't done the reading and I'm sick! He is very funny and animated, I think he would make a great stand up comedian. He is also a well rounded individual and has a lot to offer. I highly recommend his classes!!!!!
