tests are super hard! i studied with every tool he gave (which wasnt much) i got a low D on my first test... Boyko said that was really good for the first exam... good luck! he gives no extra credit. i think hes retireing after spring 2012 quarter though!

Comment:

Professor Boyko is an excellent teacher. He cares about his students. He will do everything to help you. He wants the student to know the material he is teaching. I got a C because I had a lot of things going on outside of class. I would recommend him to anyone taking a biology course at Sinclair. I give him a rating of 5.

He teaches this lpn advance track class and teaches so damn slow. syllabus said we were suppose to cover like 12 chapters and so far we have covered 5. He teaches SLOW. Does he want us to understand YES...but i dont feel prepared in this class because we barely covered half the material we were suppose to. He lives in his own world.

Absolutely loved his teaching...Took him winter quarter and learned a lot of material. He does tend to go a little slow, because he is very very through with the chapters. He is very helpful when you need it and responds to e-mails quickly. I reccomend him to every person I can, because his is such a good teacher. Can be funny but in the nerdy way.

I heard horror stories about Prof. Boyko, but I didnt think he was that bad. He is strict and expects you to listen and conprehend the first time he explains something. His tests are hard, but they push you to learn the information and not just memorize.

Boyko is my favorite professor yet. Yes, this is a hard class but know your study guide objectives and you'll get an A. I don't recommend taking another science class the same semester, as I did. However, Boyko is an excellent and interesting teacher that cares. Plenty of extra credit opportunity, fair grading, and help if you need it.

As you have read most of the comments are true to fact. This is a VERY HARD class. The fact is it doesn't matter what teacher you take, it is hard. Dr. Boyko, writes all the tests, quizzes, midterms, for all the other teachers. If you take this class you SHOULD NOT, take this class with any other sciences. But contrary to other comments he will

The class just got their final exams back. Guess what the scores looked like? (out of a 100 points.) 72.5, 54, 32, 65, 62....etc. We even formed study sessions and that didn't help. This is a result of being a bad teacher. Every student in this class execept for the few people who had to take the class a SECOND time, got C's or lower. AVIOD!

This class is one that you have to teach yourself with the quizzes that you take before even learning the lab. Lots of information to know for a 10 point quiz that can make or break your grade. Puts things on the lab practicals to purposely confuse you and no matter what teacher you have, he sets up the practical!

He is very intimidating, and he makes you not want to ask any questions. I feel a teacher is there to help you not hinder you from reaching your goal. I understand him wanting us to get the information but he is ridiculously hard! His attitude is horrible toward his students and makes you not want to learn.

He requires that you learn a lot. He will help you if you come to his office, and he had a study session for the first test. You are allowed to use a 3x5 card for each test, which can be very helpful. He is picky, though, so make sure you know your stuff! If you work hard, you can get an A.

He is a horrible teacher. He overwhelms you with work. His tests are hard! His quizzes which are 10 points, medium-hard. I would just avoid him as a teacher, it is impossible to pass especially with a good grade!
