Grade is based on weekly quizzes, 3 exams, and final. Posts old exams and quizzes that are VERY similar to the in class ones. Gives homework that's not graded. Participation does not matter, but I recommend going to class and doing the homework. I did neither and still got an A, but I learned absolutely nothing. Definitely regret doing that.

One of the chillest professor in the ESP program, note "emerging scholar program" not English speaking professor. ESP Prof are usually very strict about tardy policies, but Cohn just don't care. For quiz and exams he always posted all his old quizzes and exams on blackboard, where the question are very similar to the actual thing.

I loved Dr. Cohn. He is older and has dry humor but he is great. He gets right to the point on what he wants to see and how to do the problems. He also gives you his previous tests and the are identical to the test you take.

Dr Cohn is hands down the best math professor at wayne state. His notes and lectures are crystal clear and the exams/quizzes are all based off of the practice ones he posts on blackboard. If you go to class and study everything he posts on bb you will get an A. I can't recommend him highly enough.

This guy is one of the best math professors I've had. His lectures are very clear and he makes the material seem really easy. The best part is the quizzes and exams which come straight from old exams that he posts at the beginning of the semester. I definitely recommend him.

He is a very intelligent man, and I think he only speaks math. Literally. All you have to do is take notes in class, and do the homework. He posts quizzes/tests from previous years which end up being very similar to what you're being tested on, but doing the homeworks also helps tremendously. He is actually a very nice person. Take him if you can.

this guy is awesome. he's straight forward and you know what to expect on exams. made calc 2 a breeze but he gave a lot of homework which isn't even calculated into your grade so it didn't really matter in the end

This guy is hilarious! He's a human calculator and doesn't like being asked to repeat things. But really, his lectures are so meticulous that a student may not have to ask many questions, if any (and if you do, he's not very personable so maybe try another outlet). Quiz and test questions come straight from lecture examples and homework.

His old semesters exams and quizzes were very helpful. I dont recommend going to his office hours for help, he was very rude and unpleasant. However, since being a great instructor trumps a bad personality I highly recommend him.

Amazing prof. He posts past exams and quizzes and blackboard. Took this course with ESP. He was very clear and his exams were easy if you look over his past exams and quizzes. Got an A without being stressed out.

Cohn is a great teacher. He knows Math backwards and forward. I like him because he has 'his way' of teaching Calculus in which you can tell that he has really thought about how to deliver the lessons most efficiently. The bad side of that is that some lessons, if you need tutoring or try to use the book, are a completley different logic. A+

Best math professor I've ever had. He's great at what he does, he cares about his students, and he does a great job of preparing you for his exams. He posts previous exams and quizzes and those help a lot because he uses the same questions. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN. I highly highly recommend him.

Cohn is easy because he is so good at teaching. He has been teaching calc for w over 30 years so he knows what students struggle with. He does a great job at preparing you for the department final. Just keep up with the class.

He is an easy grader, in fact, sometimes he doesn't even mark an answer incorrect even though it's completely wrong and you'll receive full credit. He's a nice teacher, and encourages questions for clarification. He rarely throws curve balls in quizes and exams. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and ask questions. you'll get an A

He's a pretty good math professor but is probably better at teaching calculus than precalc. I had a hard time grasping the concepts, but it did really help that he would post everything including notes online daily. Kind of impatient and not very helpful during office hours, but I think he curved so that's good. Overall I would rate him a 8.5/10

BRUTAL. only class ive ever failed in my life. Horrible at explaining. Half my class was in the tutor center every week. Grades very unfair...if you have an entire question correct and out of 10, but say u forgot the negative sign at the end, he'd easily take off 3 pts. Intimidating, not helpful, and can be kind of rude when your on a one on one.

Easily my favorite professor this semester! Cohn's really easy to understand and always takes questions. It's really easy to do well in his class if you pay attention, do the homework (which isn't very difficult), and look over his sample quizzes and tests. He's a really funny guy too. I highly recommend him!

I found Mat 2020 extremely hard, but his teaching style wasn't too bad. I found his grading to be unfair. He explains some things extremely well, and others he barely skims over. He intimidated the people who went to his office hours, convincing them and others to not go to his office at all.
