Great Prof! He assigned a few typed essays and a few in class but it was always super easy and topics stayed open to interpretation. He loves to start controversial discussions which was fun. He doesn't use Canvas but make a group chat with other students and you'll be good. Easy grader and gives great feedback. AMAZING AND EASY as an 8wk class!!

He is my all-time fav professor. He really taught me how to do proper MLA format citations. He is very good at proofreading. He will read to the class a lot and then have open discussions. He is an eloquent professor and teaches important grammar skills. He gives tons of extra credit. If you miss 3 classes you fail. No eating or drinking in class.

hes a nice guy. you will write a few papers but he dnt grade too hard. he talked in a monotone voice but the stories u read print bad . he lends books if u don't have them . some times he will send u home with pages to read and u have to write a reflection . overall easy class passed with a B

Comment:

He was rude to students and wasn't great at teaching. He did not operate on a 90-100 system (it was 94-100 to get an A?) and he does not like to discuss this before you take your first test. He has sloppy handwriting and is not patient with questions. You get to turn in your research essay early for the chance to rewrite, which is nice.

Pretty straightforward. Gives clear instructions. Mainly focuses on grammar and spelling. Allows students to have a wide variety of essay topics. You use the books towards the end of the semester. They are very useful when it comes to the citation part of your research paper.

Professor Luse is amazing. Definitely my favorite professor I have EVER had at Valencia. Writing isn't my favorite thing to do and I'm not the best at it, but he really understands that. He gives you short stories to read & we used the books (there's 2) a lot. Nothing too much to handle. 3-4 at-home essays, two in-class essays & 1 research paper.

You wont learn much. If you get a low grade you are allowed to rewrite for a higher grade. He does show favortism so kiss up a little and he is a bit sarcastic. Had one major paper to write and about 4 small essays. Minimum book use. Test are not graded just for practice really. Seems hard but easy to get an A or B. Don't miss more than 3 classes.

I enjoyed the easiness of this class, but the professor was not helpful when it came to his students needing assistance. If you struggle with english and writing, I wouldn't recommend him. On the flip side, if you are a good writer, I would recommend him.

If you care about writing he is a really good Professor to take. He may be a little hard on you, but you always get a chance to re-write his papers if you hand them in early enough. It's almost impossible to fail unless you don't go to class or don't do the work.

He looks kind of like Gandalf. He is witty, sarcastic and you won't learn much. He does show favoritism but overall the class is really easy. You have 1 research paper, multiple essays and you'll be able to rewrite papers for a better grade. TAKE HIM!!

This teacher needs to learn to keep his opinion to himself. I understand he wants kids to write good papers, but he wants you to write something that doesn't make him too angry. He kept denying my papers on controverstial topics because he didn't agree with it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

He has too many unnecessary rules. Can't use your electronics in class, strict on absences. He also encourages you to email him "in case of an emergency ONLY." No drinking or eating in his class, unless you want a dirty look. You can expect a good grade if you complete assigned essays weeks before it's due and rewrite it to his liking.

I took him for Comp 1 & 2. He's quite possibly my favorite college professor. He really wants to help his students learn to write properly, and as long as you show improvements in your work, he'll give you a more than fair grade. You won't be sorry you took him unless you hate to write. Come on, it's Comp. What did you expect?

Professor Luse is awesome. I took him for Comp 1 and 2. He's clear on what he expects and he gives you plenty of one on one time to help you improve on your writing. You may have to get used to his personality but he's a funny guy. Just be sure you pay attention and participate or he may get a little tough on you.

He's great. Took him for both Comp 1 and Comp 2. If you don't do well, it's either because you don't have an aptitude for writing or you aren't trying. In Comp 2 there is a lot of writing, but it's good for you! Take him!

I took Mr. Luse for Comp II, and he's the best. The key to this class is turning your assignments in on time. He's happy to answer any questions, and will help you with whatever he can on your research paper. Just be prepared for his sarcasm. He's a trip.

Professor Luse is awesome! His sense of humor may take some getting used to but he's really funny. He's definitely a real man, and he doesn't really strike me as an educator. I recommend that you start on your research paper early and allow yourself plenty of time: it counts double towards your final grade.

I took him for English 2. Has a harsh sense of humor, but don't be afraid to pot back at him if he gets to snappy. Simple class, everyone pretty much gets a b or a c. If you rewrite any of the papers hell bump the grade up. Just make sure you write the papers. The only way to fail this class is to not do the essays
