Had Dr. P for logic last semester, loved the class! He truly care about whether or not the class understands the material and offer lots of guidance. This includes office hours, answering questions in class, going over problems, posting lessons on blackboard, and even sometimes posting video tutorials. Recommend for math majors! Book recommended

I had never taken Philosophy before in my life, but Dr. P really helped to change my outlook on how I take in information. I can analyze movies, books, television, just about anything, and draw a deeper meaning from them. Existentialism was such an important class for me, if you can take it, please do!

Dr. P is one of my favorite profs at UPG. His class on Ethics in my first semester at Pitt inspired me to declare a philosophy minor! He's really good at explaining even the deepest, most difficult ideas in a clear manner, and he's always willing to offer extra help or explanation. Honestly, he's a really cool guy and would make a good friend.

Dr. Pamerleau is a great guy and knows his stuff. Be ready for 50 straight minutes of lecturing. He definitely requires the book, but you can get it for really cheap. Take good notes and his class should be easy.

Dr. Pamerleau would make an awesome grandfather. He reminds me so much of mine. Aside from that, he's so clear and understandable but class is pretty boring. No homework - only grades are quizzes and tests. They are half T/F and half essay, but if you study you will be fine. If you take good notes, no need to buy textbook.

Great guy, very good prof and easily understandable. Workload is fair, but you must attend class to understand. the only trouble i have with him is that he has an absolutely beautiful voice for bedtime stories, and i get a little sleepy in his classes.

The class itself was somewhat interesting and the the prof is pretty cool. Don't even bother buying the book because you never need it. Go to class, take notes, and use the study guide. You'll be fine if you do that! He is good at explaining concepts, so just don't skip class or get the notes from someone.

He explains the most difficult subject to understand, very well. He always gives examples that clarify each concept. He grades somewhat hard, but if you attempt to give your best answer he will never give you a zero. He's always able to explain something you can't understand. Well organized. Everything he writes on the board is on the exams.

This professor is definitely among the best I've had at this campus. I've had him for two different classes now and both times he's been easy to understand (and when he isn't, he'll do well to help you understand) and his work load is very reasonable. Tests need some solid study time but not too much. I highly recommend him.

Good teacher. Exams are half true and false and half essay. If you don't clarify in the essay enough your grade will show. For example, if you don't explain why something is, he will right why and you will more than likely get 1/10 on that essay. Not highly recommended from what I've seen.

I had Dr. Pamerleau for Existentialism, and it was truly a mind-opening experience. The readings can be very heavy and deep in the world of philosophy, but he explains everything in class. Ask questions! He gives understandable answers. Study the notes for the exams and you will be fine. Great Professor!!!

He's a quiet speaker, so sit in the front of his class. If you come to class and take notes, you'll do fine on the exams & papers. The textbook is basically useless reading though, unless you read it after you've had the lecture. Not a good idea to skip class even when he stops taking attendance. He's a lot better at explaining the concepts himself.

Possibly the most knowledgable professor I've ever had. He's an extremely intelligent guy. Class discussions are always interesting. Tests aren't bad if you go to class and take notes. He's usually a pretty serious guy, but when he makes a joke, it's hilarious. I definitely reccommed taking Pamerleau.

THIS WAS MY FIRST DAY AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!! Pamerleau is a VERY intelligent man and teaches the topic pretty well. He allows and wants the class to have input and converse about the books. Keep in mind there is a lot of reading for this class, but if you ARE interested in a philosophy class, don't take it without this man!!

Professor Parmerleau was decent. Some people just don't get logic and I think that makes it hard to teach. If you got to class it definitely helps. It was rather boring and I fell asleep on a few days but I'm glad I went so I knew what to look at. If you're into philosophy I would recommend this class.

I had him for Ethics. Worst idea of my life, seriously. Gave notes on the board and his handwriting was bad but thats beside the point. The essay tests were the worst. Pick 2 of 3 long essays ?'s and 4 of 5 short essay ?'s. Gave study guides but that didn't help. The students that seemed the best at this class got B's. No one got an A. I got a C.

Nice guy. sometimes hard to follow. In logic, you have to keep up with it. Go to class and understand the notes. Go over examples in the book. You have to work for an A.

He's very knowledgeable and usually serious, but when he does make a joke you're bound to crack up. The material was presented very clearly and reviewed just enough each time. You shouldn't miss class, because it's similar to a math course in that the material builds heavily upon itself. And his lectures are almost always worth attending.
