Comment:
The man is a nice guy, but i'm completely serious when I say that he's one of the most boring professors i've ever had. Think paint drying, white noise machines, and old people. Absolutely, unequivocally, boring. I found it completely impossible for me to stay focused in class. Your mileage may vary.

I wish Professor Rich taught a criminal law II class. Although he is slow paced at times, Professor Rich will cover most of the major aspects of criminal law while walking you through the proper reading of criminal statutes.

Rich was great. Some people don't like his teaching method, but I don't mind it. He gave a 24 hr take home test, and as long as you paid attention and took notes, you have no excuses. He takes attendance with a clicker system, which he uses to give in-class questions about the reading which factors into your grade, but he's chill about it.

His lectures will put you to sleep. He teaches by asking a lot of questions. He teaches from the Dubber Case book which is outdated, compares laws of foreign countries and has no supplements or case briefs published for it. He doesn't cover comprehensive material and all topics needed for an understanding of criminal law.

He uses the worst book ever and never changes his class. All policy and no learning.

So boring, its really easy not to pay attention. His notes give you most of what you need to succeed on the exam. I did work for other classes most of time I spent in class.

If you have an interest in Constitutional law, Professor Rich is okay. If you don't, he's a fist full of Ambien. About as zesty as a bowl of Cream of Wheat.

prof. rich has a unique teaching style. it took me a while to catch on, but once i did i really understood the materials. he teaches by asking questions rather than just lecturing. plus the exam is a 24 hour take home. So instead of having to cram everything into your brain for an exam you can simply focus on the questions asked. i really liked his class. in fact i am taking his 1st amendment seminar right now. he means well, but not everyone gets him.

He has an agenda and sticks to it which can be (yawn) a bore, but he sets up the analysis for every issue and keep your ears perked for anything that the SC has not decided yet- that's the exam question.
