Really intelligent professor with clear desire to impart knowledge. Learned a great deal that should be quite helpful to my teaching practice. Dry subject matter but she makes as lively and rich as can be possible for someone not specializing in the subject matter. Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.

Dr. Dong is such a sweet and helpful professor. She is very clear in what she wants and as long as you are very specific and detailed in your reflection papers, you will ace the class. She is always available to help students during her office hours and a great professor in general. I loved her class

This professor has had a negative impact on many students over the years. Astonishing, shocking, she is above other qualified, coherent, and fair professors. What an injustice to future students, unless one reads and writes like the students who commend her above!

While she is a bit boring, she really is not all that bad of a professor. She is a tedious grader, but if you include EVERYTHING that she mentions in the assignment guidelines, you should be fine. Her journals are 2-3 pages and final project is 5. Not too bad. Her accent can be distracting, but overall she was a pretty decent professor.

I dont understand how these student gave dr dong a bad rating. The work can be tedious but not hard at all. If you are not lazy and an honest person you will love her. She is the most sweet helpful professor. She has sparked my interest in ESL and I appreciate her wisdom. She is all around wonderful. I cant wait to take her again.

This teacher does assign alot of papers to write, but they are 2 pages each and reflections so it is not that hard. She is a fair grader and makes the class interesting. As long as you pay attention, you will do fine. I highly recommend this Professor. There are no tests, just papers! I learned alot from this Professor.

Dr. Dong is fine. Like any professor, she expects you to do your work. I don't know what it is about some Queens College grad students, but they seem to complain a lot and some even sit and chat during classes and have the nerve to act surprised when others ask them to be quiet. Please consider the source when you are reading these.

This teacher is extremely boring. These were the 3 longest hours of my life. But if you do EXACTLY what she askes for you will do fine. My first day of class, i thought i was going to fail but my final grade was an A.

Dr.Dong seems like a very smart woman, and I have nothing against her personally. However, I have never loathed a class more than I do hers. She is not an interesting speaker, and sometimes her accent can be distracting. She is quite rigid, and grades papers arbitrarily. If you can, avoid her class.

very nice lady, but she has strong cantonese accent and cannot speak english fluently, her vocabulary is good but pronunciation is bad. anyway, she is a decent teacher, those wanting to teach english will probably have to take her, if so. . dont be scared. she is a little bit of a harsh grader so look out for that, thats it.

Not only does Prof. Dong have nothing to say, but she is extremely unhelpful and inflexible. She was one of the worst professors I have EVER taken; I have never met such an uninteresting and incompetent professor.
