No! Just no! Dont do it. I was so excited about abnormal psych and I could not wait to run out of her class everyday! This lecture was just intolerable. She rants and dries the material out, and lectures beyond the class end time. I passed but I will retake with a better professor b/c I want to understand & enjoy the material. A

Dr. Assur is a very smart lady. She is also very opinionated and although I can appreciate her wisdom, and for the most part can enjoy her class, she completely repels technology. For a woman so focused on motivating her stupid to not be lukewarm, she should follow her own advice and not lecture for three hours without some type of enthusiasm.

Dr. Assur is amazing and thought provoking. She changed my life and view on the integration of psychology and theology. I was completely floored by her knowledge and expertise in the field of psy! 5 stars is an understatement for her teaching ability! I would pay all over again just to hear her lecture!

She is a tough professor however she is the BEST. I never had a prof. quite like her and it was well worth it. You thought out the box and she prepares you for grad school. Her Office is always open for you to come and get help or advice. Her appearance is always professional which sets a tone for her profession. Take her class:) just work hard!:)

I took several classes with Assur between 1984- 1987. She was one of the most difficult teachers ever but a great communicator! She made classes interesting and prepared me well for graduate school. After her, my masters courses felt like highschool. Really!

She's is one the most socially aware professors I know. Her teaching has challenged me to think beyond the textbook. Assur is by far one of the best professors at Nyack.

She is such an awesome woman. I think for those who don't really want to take life seriously just yet, they won't enjoy her too much. But, for those who look way beyond the surface of things, any class with her is pretty stretching ... that goes for whatever psych stuff you're learning and your personal journey as well ... there is a reason there is a PhD behind her name ... and not to say you take in whatever anyone tells you because of that .. i think she is one of the most genuine and balanced professors

Just wait until you are in Psych Sem. Your view will drastically change! She will try and convice you to not drink water, not eat sugar, doubt the government - pretty much you should live in a cult with the American Indians. All I have to say is - Take a grain of salt! SHALOM MY FRIENDS!

she IS smart - ill admit that, but everything that she teaches comes from a VERY VERY one sided position...it's not you like her if you like learning and you don't like her if you don't like learning.. it's if you listen to everything people tell u because it sounds dramatic then you'll like her.. if you are a realist and you know that sugar is not the only reason that children have problems and develop pathologies, you'll get tired of her rants very quickly.
