Professor Wheeler is an expert in her field - Research Methods and Excel & Tableau. She is well organized, well respected, caring, and if you decide to work your part, you will not only get an A but you will have learned something at the end of this class. I really appreciated this Summer course-many times until 2am in the morning. Great professor!

Yes, it's true, she may be a little unorganized. But she cares about her class and if you do all the assignments and keep up in the class you will be fine. She is a nice lady and I really respect her. Also, she is an excel guru, she knows VBA by heart.

If you are already an excel guru this class could easily frustrate. If you have beg/int excel skills this course could be good. Lots of small (mostly excel) projects. Professor is really well meaning and wants her students to succeed but her teaching method is certainly not always conventional. What you put in is what you'll get out.

If you want an easy A, take her. But if you truly want to learn excel and the fundamentals, avoid her. She basically comes in class and breeze her way through the functions without properly explaining. Perhaps once upon time she was a great prof. Now, she seems lazy, nonchalant and careless.

She's the most USELESS professor ever. She doesn't know what she's teaching, she complains about how she doesn't have time or energy to walk us through Excel, and she even asked students to help her teach lessons. She never comes to class prepared and tbh, she's the prime example that having a Master's doesn't mean anything. She's full of excuses.

Really nice lady. easy grader. You'll get an A if you just accomplish all the homework, which is not hard at all. Recommend to students who needs to raise their GPA. If you cannot accomplish homework in time, just ask for time extension.

Prof. Wheeler is a very kind woman It pains me to say that her teaching skills are not that great. She knows Excel, but I feel like it's hard for her to teach it If you talk to her she can definitely work things out with you. She posts A LOT on blackboard and expects us to hand in assignments on time, but never gives due date. A little disorganized

Horrible class - reads verbatim from lessons and complains when she can't figure out why it doesn't work. Relies on students to teach her the content. Wastes class time with nonsensical stories and asides. Like so many other classes at Baruch, easy A if you show up - avoid if you actually want to learn skills that will be useful.

Very nice person, but probably one of the most incompetent professors at Baruch. Only has a surface understanding of the material so is able only to give instructions without any meaningful explanation.

Prof Wheeler is okay, she fumbles over her thoughts and gets things wrong a lot. There are things you do in class, but she expects you to upload them on BB, but she won't tell you that. Grading is subjective, MyITLab assignments are added randomly, so watch out and practice your skills, you will have two screengrab videos. Nice lady, but bad prof.

How is she qualified to teach? She is so lost and always sounds nervous. Did not teach - it was more following someone else's lessons & working through them. If they were too hard, she scrapped it. No formal instruction of VBA which is what a lot of students wanted. Wasted time on applications that look cool but weren't that practical.

Wheeler does not know the subject at all, keeps changing assignments and requirements, grades project based on what other people did, not o what she required to do. completely unclear and not fair. avoid at all cost! professors like this should not teach at all!

Excellent primer on Excel in general. You will learn the "baby steps" first and move onto far more complex / sophisticated excel work later on in the semester. Great professor - wish I had taken this class in a longer semester. 6-weeks does not do it justice.

One of the very few professors who actually cares about her students at Baruch. Class helped me a lot with advanced concepts in excel. Very hard to take class during summer when Baruch closes library/computer lab. She is extremely responsive and receptive to the class. VBA and modeling not covered in great depth. Overall must take!

Glad I took the class. I learned a lot, and Prof. went out of her way to give students chance to earn points by working hard. Also, guest speakers were interesting. But she's quite disorganized at times. Overall, I'd recommend it if you want to learn fairly advanced Excel, but not if you want to know the concepts underlying business modeling.

nice lady, But when it comes to EXCEL is not helpful. Took 2+ classes to review Blogging, Instagram and Twitter. NOT relevant to Financial Modeling. She Googles EXCEL and COPY/PASTE the results into a Powerpoint and hopes that we learn from that. Tests and homework are easy. If you actually wanted to learn, just save your money and use you-tube.

Really nice lady, but incredibly unorganized. Class was really boring and had zero substance. I think this was her first time teaching this class so I'll give her benefit of the doubt, but she clearly did not plan out the course very well.

Worst Prof ever, she doesn't know how to teach excel, she reviews her stuff just one before class and then forgets how to use excel. Most of the times its students that are assisting her in setting up the excel mode. She doesn't know Macros/VBA, she just reads word for word from the book and teaches the class. Do not take her class.

took her for spring '13. she's very nice and helpful. straightforward grader. curved the exams. gave extra credit. easy lab assignments if you follow the directions precisely. midterm, final, quizzes are all online. they're heavily based on the textbook. i skimmed through the textbook for studying and did no extra credit and got a B+
