Das is really a 3.5 or 4/5 not 5/5 but his ratings could use a boost because he is NOT THAT BAD. Textbook not required but I tried ALL OF THEM because this was a difficult subject for me. If you do use textbook go for the one by Cochon because it most closely resembles the exams. Got 100% on midterm, final was tricky. Formulas provided, heavy curve

Comment:

Took him during the winter- 4 quizzes on BB, midterm & final. If you study his PPTs you will be fine. Midterm was easy, Final was brutal. He's not a likable person--something about his face makes me want to just punch it multiple times.

I didn't really enjoy his lectures, very dry and boring. But I'm also not interested in operations mngt. Its mandatory for business degree. He focuses on blackboard, quizzes, audio and powerpoint, midterm and final. The tests are long and not easy.

Comment:

Took during winter. Funny and nice guy. Must attend every class if you want to do good in the class. Graded on online quizzes (easy 4 attempts), midterm and final which were all fair if you study. Just study his practice questions on blackboard and go over his audio files and you will be fine.

Super hard class, he is not a great lecturer and he is SO disorganized. Like how anyone got anything done is beyond me. God his blackboard gives me so much anxiety!!! Exams don't correlate well with the class. I would avoid..

Honestly, I was nervous to have this professor due to all the negative reviews on here, but he's not bad at all. I took him during a summer session, so the grades were based on 1 midterm, 1 final, and online quizzes. His audio ppt's explain everything you need to know, and he curves very generously. My avg was over 100%.

He is the worst professor at Baruch. Very unorganized, rude, and prepotent. he does not give o review before the test, the test is nothing related with lecture and HW. BlackBoard is a nightmare and the audios are really boring. He does not require any book. he teaches from multiple ones, which make the class even harder. Save your money and GPA.

This class was held in a huge lecture hall. He doesn't even use the microphone, barely hear him. Class is half online half in class. HORRIBLE. 1Hr and 15 mins for an exam and then starts handing them out during that time and ended up only having 30 mins to take a midterm. Horrible online lectures. Worst class ever.

AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!! The worst professor ever in Baruch Collge. His powerpoint slides are extremely unorganized, voice over is useless! Class lectures are very bored. Learn nothing at all!

Amazing professor. Makes the course really interesting and funny. I took a 5 week hybrid course, but he uploaded very clear powerpoint slides with voiceover and always responded to any emails with questions immediately.

The professor is nice. The lecture could be boring and confusing but the audio is really useful! I listened to them for 3 days, and got B+ overall. However, you have to devoted a lot of time for the class. Online quizzes, group projects, Sam, one midterm and one final.

Das does not actually care about making sure his students are learning. He spends most of class making students feel stupid for not already knowing the material and slander the other professors for not already teaching it.

So, I took him for a winter course because I wanted to get this out of the way, but it was honestly so tough. Only graded on the midterm and final, so to get a decent grade in the class you need to do well on the exams. All his material is on Blackboard audio files. Try to take another professor is you can. Didnt like this very much.

Comment:

I chose him for my winter class and that was a good decision. The material is challenging. He offers to read any book but the main point is on Prof. Das' powerpoints with audio comments. The audios made me fall sleep so quick but I'd killed 2 weekends and got an A-. He's helpful, cause he knows how challenging it is to learn during the winter.

All documents are on BB but they are so many files! Looks very unorganized to me, I don't like how that is structured. If you can get pass the organization, just read all slides and you'll be fine. Listen carefully in class, some of what is said is on the test. You have to form a group and then do Assignments together. Get a good group!

few quizzes online easy 4 tries for each, midterm, final, 2 to 3 group projects, SAM project 3 parts. I suggest keep up with the material as class goes on. Get an A.

Very difficult class, and you have to pay attention to lectures. Few online quizzes that are easy, very difficult midterm and final, and two group projects. Must be willing to study and do practice problems outside of class. SAM assignments worth 5% of final grade.

Its awful. He has heavy accent. Lectures are not understandable. I was preparing 8 days for midterm and did that bad.
