Comment:

His midterms are fair but I wouldn't say easy. It really helps to do the questions from the textbook because it will train you to be able to do questions faster with more accuracy on the midterms. His final was harder, the average was about a 65% but it was still a fair exam.

Comment:

Simplifies everything you need to know and makes everything super clear. Gives lots of examples from the lecture that relate to the homework, which relate very closely with the midterms. Final was a bit harder but still fair. Didn't need to look at the test at all. Amazing prof.

Alan Meichner is by far one of the best profs I've ever had. Calc is usually really dreadful for me but he made it super easy! GO TO HIS LECTURES! It is worth it. He is really clear in his explanations, always answers any questions you and and super helpful. His exams are really fair, do the assignments and review his notes and you'll do great !

One of the best Math profs that I've had so far at SFU. Crystal clear and explains everything well with great exams. The final was quite hard, but do the questions, do the homework and you'll be fine.

I did not do well in the class as math is not my strong suit, but he is the best math professor I've had to date. Crystal clear lectures, gives good examples, and is very helpful in the calculus workshop, even if your question is "easy" he will still take his time to explain and make sure you are following. Highly recommended.

hes a pretty good prof if you ask him a question he will definitely give you an answer plus some extra information. He knows his stuff, clear notes, nice guy. Even tho he is a TA before, he still answer all ur questions as a TA would.

Generally a nice guy. Very helpful. Yeah he talks too fast during lectures. His lectures are well organized. Willing to give very close to answer hints to the students for on line assignments. Exams are not too easy (not too hard either).

uses webct discussion board. tries hard but seems a little nervous speaking in front of class - speaks too quickly sometimes. open to suggestions. lecture notes are a mess. doesn't quite "enlighten" class but overall a pretty good prof.
